Shawn and I walked home in silence. We didn't talk much that day. I went home and he went home. I went straight to my room and started my homework, trying to get him off of my mind. It worked, that is, until he texted me.

Aiden- where were you during lunch

Me- I had to go work on homework for History

Aiden- bullshit. Show me proof.

I sent him a picture of my history homework that I had just finished. In reality I hung out with Shawn all day. Aiden didn't send me a response. I continued working on different assignments. When I was finished, I checked what time it was. It was only 7:29. Mom and dad weren't home yet. I looked at my phone and saw no new notifications. I sighed.

I got up, taking my phone and headed over to Shawn's house. I knocked on the door before I walked in. Shawn's sister, Aaliyah, was sitting on the couch watching something on the tv and doing her homework.

"Is Shawn in his room?" I asked her.

"Yeah, but knock before you enter."

"Kay."

I walked up the stairs and down the hall to the furthest door on the left and knocked. I waited a moment before the door opened and Shawn was standing there shirtless.

"Dear god, child. Put a shirt on." I said as I pushed by him and plopped down on his bed.

"Dear god, Katy. I'm not the child here."

"Are you saying that cause I'm shorter than you?" I asked him, raising up on my elbows.

"That and you're younger than me."

"By a couple months!"

"My birthday's in August. Yours is in February. That's more than a couple of months. That's like five months." He said as he pulled a shirt on.

"Six months dumbass."

"I was guessing smartass."

"Obviously." I said laying down completely again.

He came over and plopped on the bed beside me. "Are your parents still not home yet?"

"Nope."

"Dinner's gonna be soon if you want some."

"Well, it depends on what it is."

"Tacos."

I shot him a glare. "Is it cause it's Taco Tuesday?"

He looked at me with a smirk. "Duh. We always have taco night on Tuesday."

"Touché."

We sat there looking at the ceiling for a while when I heard Shawn's mom yell for everyone to come down. We got up and walked downstairs.

"Hi sweetheart. Are your parents not home?"

"Nope. Don't know when they're gonna be home."

"You're welcome to stay over tonight."

"Thanks Misses M."

"No problem sweetie."

She served us all five tacos before she sat down. We said grace, then we started eating.

"So, Katy. Are you still dating that Aiden guy?"

"Unfortunately."

"I'm so sorry. You deserve so much better than him."

"I know. I just don't want to get hurt after we break up."

"I understand. Well, if you need any help, just find Shawn."
