Tomiko summoned her menu and tapped on one of the circles. A window popped up and she tapped on a few icons before looking at me. A moment later, a window popped up in front of me with text hovering over a blue and red pair of buttons.

"Pina would like you to join her party!"

I tapped on the blue icon and something appeared in my vision. I assumed it was a Heads-Up-Display. My name was typed on a health bar above a Pina's health bar.

"Now that we are a party," Tomiko said, "we split the experience and drops from any and all mobs and kaijus we defeat."

"Experience? Drops?"

"Experience helps toward raising your skills. Drops are items that monsters drop. For example, a monster could drop 15 credits as well as ammo for your Scorpion."

I nodded. "Okay. How do we find a kaiju? Its not like they're everywhere, right?"

"According to the website, a monster spawns somewhere in the server every 60 seconds."

I thought about the spawn ratio of a kaiju in Ultraman and realized the difference, making me begin to fear this new world.

"We can't fight them all on our own!" I quickly spun away from her and held myself. "Most of the kaijus in this world have lasers strong enough to wipe out Naha Airport! We'll die!"

Tomiko gently placed her arms on my shoulders. "Thats why I did research on the best ways to win."

She led me to a small private room and shut the door. Inside was a simple table with a flower arrangement in the center with holographic icons floating around it. I sat down in front of her with my rifle on my back and machine pistol in its holster. I watched Tomiko tap an icon and a soft drink appeared in front of her. She took a sip and sighed.

"This base has NPC droids scattered around the base to receive missions from," she explained. "We can choose low level mission with small kaijus until we level up enough to take on the bigger foes. Besides, the kaijus are the least of your problems."

"Least?" I tapped an icon and a soft drink appeared. I drank it nervously as Tomiko continued.

"Yeah. This game has a Karma system in which you are ranked by two things: Level and Karma. If you kill a player or kill civilian NPCs, you get the Bad Karma Ranks. They go in this order: Bandit, Criminal, Outlaw, and Villain. Bad Karma players tend to attack Neutral or Heroic Karma players to loot them of their items."

"Then... why play this game if people want to kill you!?"

"So we can stop them and teach them a lesson, as well as feel like heroes against these kaijus."

I turn around. "How long do you think we can last?"

"If we're smart, maybe a year game time."

I consider the facts and give a sigh. "Alright. Lets do this."
