~3 Hours Till The Gig~
I stood in front of the mirror looking at my outfit. For once i felt very happy with something i'd picked, i'd always brought something and hated it after so for me to like it was a first.
My hair was curled and looked so full, my hair looked its best when it was wavy as i have straight hair naturally.
I didn't go to heavy on the make up as i didn't want to pull the wrong kind..
"You ready Lilla?!" I shouted to the room next door. Just to be sure i banged on the wall which joined our rooms.
"Just finishing off my hair!" She called back, Lilla was always the one to be late but thats just her and thats why i loved her.
I closed my door and walked into the living room/kitchen, made myself a drink of water and decided to look out the balcony. Evening had just fallen and Leeds was twinkling, the small light of cars could be seen zipping round the streets and the moon light lit up the sky.
"You ready?" I turned round to see Lilla smiling holding a clutch bag.
"I missed this place" i turned back to sky line and smiled to myself.
"I'm happy to have my best mate back" she pulled me into a hug and then we headed for the door.
We walked down streets and walk ways until we reached the venue. I stood outside and memories flooded back, that time we both got pissed and were throw out. When we met a group of lads and got down the front at a coldplay gig. It seemed like a life away, it really had been a long time..
The venue was just as i remembered it, the smell of sweat hit you as you walked in and the walls were worn down by the heat. People had crowed the staged and this time we were early, for once.
"Its packed" Lilla stared motionlessly at the crowd, her eyes scanning each person.
"We still cant plan these things right" i laughed and grabbed her arm pulling her to the bar.
We had two fruity cocktails but this time drank them at the bar as we'd learnt last time about crowds and drinks.
We downed the last little bit and headed for the crowd, We pushed our way forward about half way. I stood on my tippy toes to see over the taller people stood in front of me. But just as i pushed up the person behind me fell or was pushed which caused to fall forward. I put my hands out to cushion the fall but they were met not by the floor but the body of the person stood in front of me. I awkwardly removed my hands of the mans back repeatedly saying "i'm so so so so so so sorry" which caused my face to turn bright red. He turned round but my head was staring at the floor.
"Its fine really, these things happen at gigs don't worry 'bout it" his voice was calm and smooth. I could've sworn i'd heard it before. My head shot up and i was met by the face of a tall gingery haired man, his face was toned and perfectly proportioned. His eye were a light blue which twinkled under the stage lighting, his lips formed that type of smile which you couldn't help but smile yourself. I searched my mind for where i'd seen his face, then it hit me.
"Wait i know you" he smiled and pointed slightly at me.
"I was thinking the same thing"i smiled back and we both laughed.
"Of course i was a little chubbier back then" he held his stomach and rubbed it.
"You weren't chubby" i laughed at him as i remember the first time we met.
"Don't pity me" he joked "any way I'm ricky which you already know" he held out his hand, which i shook.
"I'm not" i laughed "Amelia, but of course you already knew that" i flashed a cheeky smile at him.
"Well, To be honest i'd forgotten entirely"he smiled cheekily back and i didn't know if he was being sarcastic or not. Before i had time to ask the room was flooded by darkness, all heads turned to the stage as a figure walked out and picked up a guitar.
The gig was amazing, Jake Bugg is good live and really connects with the crowd which was what i loved about him. Lilla and I were shattered by the end and really want to get back to bed. We linked arm so we wouldn't lose each other and headed out. We were walking down the main road, about ten steps away from the venue, when someone tapped my arm. I turned round and saw ricky smiling behind us, before he had time to speak four other lads popped up behind him. All but one i recognized.
"Sorry to bother you but me and the lads" ricky started before one of lads cut of him off.
"Well mainly ricky" he laughed
"Cheers Peanut" he turned his head and widened his eyes at him before turning round to carry on, "Do you maybe want to have a drink sometime? We can text a date and maybe meet up with you two?" He rubbed his shoulder nervously.
I turned to Lilla who smiled at me which meant yes.
"Yeah sounds great, is that also a subtle way to get my number?" I smirked at Ricky who smiled and looked across the road then back to me.
"What ever made you think that?" He passed us a small card which read
Ricky Wilson
KaiserChiefs@CarolineInternational. com
07964587537
The number was written in hand, maybe not something he gave out to everyone.
Then something caught my eye, Kaiser Chiefs.
My heart raced, i'd heard of them before and really like their one track.
I didn't say anything about it as i didnt want to look like some crazy person who only wanted them now i knew they were popular.
We said goodbye and started walking home again.
"Lilla?" I kept my eyes on the path.
"Yeah?" She replied.
"What just happened?" I was still in shock.
"Like, i'm not fan girling or anything but we got asked to go for a drink with the Kaiser Chiefs" she was just as shocked as i was.
"Well Ricky and his mates, they are people too, plus everyone is going to think we are some wanna be groupies, the real fans might rip us apart!" I got worried as i thought more about it. I'd seen what happened to the girls seen out with a band member, papers, magazines and gossip channels reported it saying you were some slut trying to get popular of the back of them. That was the last thing i wanted! I don't want to be 'famous'.
We finally got home and thought it was best to just go to bed. Now for me this meant a night of overthinking and staring at the celling, which i did to a T.
