Chapter thirty-six

Encre P.o.v

I walked out of the castle out in the forest again and found the Phoenix. it instantly flew over to me and sat on my shoulder. It nuzzled my head again. I gently ran my fingers down its back resulting in me getting a burn and being bitten. I began to walk towards the village.

"So do you have a name?" I asked the Phoenix. it shocks its head no.

"Can I give you one?" I asked. the nodded.

"how about fire?" I asked it bit me

"Okay, that was a clear no and ow... so what about flam?" It looked at me disappointed.

"Okay I'm bad at names," I said it nodded. We were about five minutes from the village I was getting tired of finding a name.

"What about Keahilele?" I asked I thought for a bit and nodding in approval

"Finally," I said. I walked for a bit. The Phoenix nuzzling against my skull again.

"Encre, don't move," Eternas voice said behind me.

"I know I have a Phoenix on my shoulder. Don't kill it please," I said turning around getting an arrow in my shoulder.

"Even if you aimed for the Phoenix the shot was to low, try to aim higher next time," I said. taking a hold of the arrow and ripped it out. Well, this hurt more than it should. Because you were supposed to push it out. Eterna walked up beside me. the opposite side than Keahilele.

"Weren't Phoenix extinct?" Eterna asked

"People said the same about my family," I said.

"True, But who could have guessed it we welcomed a Spark with open arms, If we knew we would have tried to kill you," she said. Keahilele flew up in the air before ducking down towards me full speed. I pushed Eterna out of the way. Aliza. don't help me here I know what I'm doing. She didn't respond. Keahilele tried to hit me or more like tried to burn me alive. 

"Stay out of this Eterna this a thing between me and Keahilele," I said she didn't question too much but only nodded. Before telling me to be careful. I knew when handling a pissed Phoenix you would have to move like water, as in flowing. I moved out of the way. 

"I know you're angered by my family but I'm not like them," I said. Keahilele attacked again not really hearing what I said. Keahilele attacked again but this time they made a quick shift that made it burn my skull. I didn't care about the burns which confused them. They finally saw my soft expression and fake smile.

"I'm not my family but the one they called a runt," I said. I noticed that more people watched the whole thing. I lifted my hand in front of me in a friendly gesture. Keahilele understood and flew and landed on my hand clearly trying to burn it off. Well, this hurts and I most of all wanted to shack them off but I didn't.

"Will you please stop trying to burn my hand off?" I asked and the pain fainted a lot. It gave me an apologizing look. Someone tried to shoot Keahilele. I grabbed the arrow mid-air.

"You are aware of this being the last known Phoenix alive?" I asked.

"IT TRIED TO KILL YOU!!!" I looked at Azure. 

"And they're a living creature," I said. 

"Encre we have said it before and we're saying t again, Your kindness will be the end of you," Eterna said.

"I know, But it's also the thing that keeps me alive," I smiled. Keahilele looks confused. I looked at everyone. Keahilele flew up to a branch and sat there. I began to walk towards my house and they followed. I sone reached my house I walked in and walked to my room. My fake smile faded. I looked at a cavern before pulling some paint out and begin. I was surprised at what I painted. I painted Keahilele but free at night. I shook it off as nothing and change close. I really don't wanna leave...
