Chapter 5

~~~ Violet's Perspective ~~~
I walked through the forest with Harry in silence. I still felt bad for making him cry, so I asked how he felt.
"Harry, comment ça va (how are you)?"
"Ça va (fine)... Sorry for crying earlier."
"It's fine, I feel bad for asking."
"You know, you never did tell me about you besides your name, Violet."
I laughed, "there isn't much to say." I looked down, a bit sad. Harry took notice.
"Everyone has a story."
I looked up, looked at him, and spoke.
"My dad died when I was young, about five or so, I can't remember. Everything was so chaotic back then... I think he had a heart attack. I think he smoked a lot because my mom can't stand smoke," I paused, "... My mom... She abuses me and my brother. My young little baby bro. He's only like seven but she doesn't restrain herself at all on him, either of us really." Harry looked at me with a very obviously sad expression.
"I'm really sorry, and I thought I had problems," he chuckled.
"No, I'm not trying to downplay any of your problems. Sorry."
"You aren't, it's-"
I wrapped my arms around him suddenly, and he did the same, pulling me into his warm embrace. I choked back tears as I thought about all the bullying I faced at school. Would I have to go back there one day?

~~~ Harry's Perspective ~~~
I patted her hair and told her it was gonna be okay.
"Don't worry. You'll never have to go back there."
"Wh-what?"
"Let's run away together, just the two of us! I hate being part of the band nowadays. It was fun at first but lately it's been so commercialized. So business. I hate it. And you, I couldn't live myself if I made you go back to your mom. She sounds horrible," I said, "so... What do you say?"
She paused for a moment, probably thinking about her brother. Finally she looked up at me.
"Let's do it."
