Jimin's pov
"Don't give me that look, I know what you're going to ask." I said as I leaned back against my chair.
Jungkook sat in his cell with that same cocky bunny smile he always used. Ever since Jungkook's arrest, I've been coming to the police station to visit him. Oddly enough it's been a week and no murders have shown up.Could this be a coincidence?
"I just wanted to know what you've been up to for the past year." He said with an innocence smile. I couldn't trust him, especially that with smile of his.
Besides, why would he care about me? He never once tried to find me after what happened a year ago.
Not even a phone call.
"I've been getting my life back together." I sighed deeply and glanced to his dirty converses. "I've moved on." I whispered.
"Have you really?" I didn't like his tone. There was a double meaning to it and I didn't want to go there.
"Yes I have." I answered sharply. "How about you? What have you been doing for that past year? Are you still an undercover cop?"
Jungkook slowly shook his head. "I could no longer be an undercover since I went against my orders. After I woke up in the hospital, they fired me." He made a face that clearly said he was annoyed.
"So what have you been doing ever since?" I asked.
"Nothing much." he looked down to his feet with a heavy sigh. "I'm not the same guy you knew a year ago." He looked back up to me. "I'm dangerous." He added.
I felt a chill run down my back. He did seem very different. "You're so dangerous that you killed that girl?" I asked.
Jungkook narrowed his gaze at me. "I didn't kill that girl. I fucked her, paid her and went on my merry way." He spat. "Besides there is no evidence to prove I killed her- which I didn't."
"I saw the body Jungkook, they found a sperm sample in her ass."
Jungkook smiled a little. "I didn't fuck her up her ass if that's what you're getting at." I could have sworn he looked like he wanted to laugh.
I shook my head with annoyance and stood up from my seat. Jungkook stood up as well and leaned against the cell bars. "It's really good to see you again Jimin. I'm glad...you're still alive."
Was it a lie? Did he truly miss me? I really didn't know. "I'm glad too." I replied."
"Jeon Jungkook?" we turned around to see an officer standing by the exit. "We just got word from the D.A. that you're free to go." He added as he walked over to Jungkook's cell and opened it.
"Why the change of heart?" I could literally taste the sarcasm coming from his tone.
The officer ignored his comment and narrowed his eyes at him. "We don't even have enough evidence to put you as a suspect. You're free to go but we will be watching so don't do anything stupid." He warned.
Jungkook smiled softly and walked out of his cell. "I'm a free man Jimin! Let's say we go out for some drinks." He offered.
"No I think I'll pass." I muttered. I wasn't in any mood to hang out with him at the moment.
Jungkook shrugged his shoulders and reached into his pocket. He took out a piece of paper with words scribbled on it. "Here is my address, in case you wanna hang out."
I took the paper and placed it in my back pocket. "I'll keep that in mind." I assured him.
"Oh Dr. Wang wanted to speak to you, he's waiting for you in the lobby." The officer informed me as he glanced over to Jungkook. "Get going." He ordered.
"Thank you, I'll be there shortly." I told the officer as I passed Jungkook and walked toward the lobby.
Dr. Wang was there with a confused, almost annoyed look on his face. Once I entered the room he directed his full attention to me.
"I'm so glad you're here. I finally got the results from that semen sample we found on that young lady a week ago."
"Okay but why did it take so long? I thought you said it was only three days?"
Dr. Wang sighed deeply and leaned himself against one of the chairs. "I'm rather baffled about the results. I even questioned my sanity a few times and checked the machines for any errors."
"Baffled? Dr. Wang what has gotten you surprised? Was the results that bad?" I furrowed my brows as I watched him impatiently run his hand through his grey hair.
"I don't even know where to begin but I'll just say it anyway." He inhaled and exhaled rather deeply. "The test results were inconclusive. The DNA was from someone that died a year ago."
I felt my heart lurch into the back of my throat. A million possibilities were running through my mind but only one person can fit that description. "Who was it?" I whispered.
Dr. Wang looked like he wanted to laugh but was too scared or confused to even muster up any other emotion. "It belonged to someone by the name of Min Yoongi. Funny right? That kid died a year ago in a fire he set up."
It was like god decided to give me on last smack in the face, for old times' sake. Every part of my body locked up and began to shut down.
"This is not possible.." I said to myself but I knew he heard me.
"Jimin are you okay? You're going pale on me." He reached out to me but my body reacted the wrong way and flinched.
This has to be a lie, he couldn't be alive...it's not possible.
"Jimin? Jimin you're scaring me." His voice became somewhat distorted, or maybe it was just my brain shutting down due to the stress as everything around me spun in circles and the next thing I knew I was flat on my back and out for the count.
