Kuch Toh Log Kahenge serial is love story of two doctors, Dr. Ashutosh and Dr. Nidhi.

Dr. Ashutosh is a very successful doctor at Kotnis hospital, Lucknow. He can get anything in life that he wants. His colleague Dr. Mallika is once his junior college. They both work at the same hospital. Dr. Mallika is in deeply in love with Ashutosh and will have been waiting for more than 10 years. But he never has such feelings towards her.

Dr. Nidhi on the other hand is a new intern at Kotnis hospital. She doesn't like this professional at all, to an extent that she even prays to god to fail her. But she passes with 14Th rank. She pursues this professional to fulfill her dad's wish. Her dad Verma is a ex military officer.

When these two meet at the hospital, the spark starts between them. They both try really hard to avoid it or hide it. But fail really bad. Mallika tries her best to torture Nidhi, both professionally and personally. But one day with the help of Ashutosh's friend Armaan and Nidhi's friend Rohan, they both confess their love for each other. But everyone from Nidhi's side is against this relation. Because there is almost an age gap of 18 years between them. Nidhi's childhood best friend Anji supports her all this while. Mean while Rohan also starts falling for Nidhi.

Dr. Ashutosh is a orphan. He is adopted by Dr. Mathur and Ashutosh gets a family. But 6 years back, Dr. Mathur leaves the house because of personal reasons. Mathur writes his house in the name of someone else.

Later, they get to know that Mathur wrote the house in the name of Nidhi, who is his granddaughter. Mallika cheats Nidhi's father and gets the house and gives it to Ashutosh, but only on one condition that he has to marry her. But he refuses because he is deeply in love with Nidhi. Mallika leaves him by marrying one of their classmates.

To forget everything and to move on, Nidhi goes to an NGO and starts working as a doctor there. There she gets one of the favorite patient, who turns out to be her maternal grandfather. Nidhi's parents eloped and got married. After Nidhi's birth, her mother passes away. With guilt, Mathur leaves the house at that time.

Ashutosh brings back his dad home and takes care of him. When Mathur comes to know about Nidhi and Ashutosh, he pleads Nidhi's father to accept their relationship.

Finally, after so many struggles they get married. Rohan goes away from Nidhi's life on the same day to move on. After few months Anji gets married to Dr. Ranganath, who also works at Kotnis hospital.

Even after marriage they face many problems due to age difference, mallika comes back into their lives and tries to separate them, Mathur falls sick and they save him with lot of difficulty.

But nothing makes them weak. Their relation becomes stronger and stronger by each passing day.

The serial ends with a happy news that Nidhi and Anji gets married.
