The agent that'd come to pick up Josh was slumped unconscious in the back seat as Josh pulled out a map and laid it out on the center console where Shawn could also read it from the passenger seat.

"We're in North Carolina right now- Because of you, I might add." Josh explained as he pointed to the map, referencing Shawn's great escape with Y/N. "They're taking her to some remote spot in Pennsylvania, and- Dude, are you even listening? C'mon, now's really not the time to get distracted."

Josh snapped in Shawn's face, breaking him out of his trance and forcing him back down to earth.

"S-Sorry." Shawn muttered quietly, settling back in his seat. "This is all just so.. I don't know. Anyways, yeah, Pennsylvania. Keep going."

His friend gave him a weird look but continued anyways, tapping a spot on the map. "Here. They're going to hold her to ransom, get more money out of the government. I think they're shooting for $100 million."

"That's good, right?" Shawn perked up, eyes frantically flickering between the map and the man. "If they're using her for ransom, they won't kill her?"

Josh was silent, not knowing exactly how to word what he was thinking. "Listen, I.. I wouldn't put it past them. Let's just make sure they don't even get the chance, alright?"

Shawn bit the inside of his cheek stubbornly but ultimately agreed, running a hand through his hair and grunting. "How long of a drive is this?"

"About 10 hours." Josh informed with a quirk of his eyebrows, "You'd better get comfortable."

There was nothing to be heard in the room except for the faint dripping of water, Y/N's shallow breathing, and the echoes of her sniffs that bounced off the walls. The darkness she'd been submerged in for what felt like hours now was so intense that she wasn't sure whether or not she'd been blindfolded; however, the burning of her wrists and ankles at least told her that she was tied down to a chair.

Her skin pricked with goosebumps from the chilled air flowing through the room and she wasn't sure exactly how she'd gotten here after being taken away from Shawn.

Shawn.

The mere thought of him made her head spin. He was left behind with the two other agents and as much as she wanted to believe that he was strong enough to escape, she also had to admit that his chances were slim.

A single tear was shed, but she didn't have time to grieve. The steel door to the right of her creaked open, light from the room over pouring in just enough for her to tell what was happening. Her body froze as a man walked in, his shiny black dress shoes clicking against the concrete. His suit-clad body stood tall, the mask covering his face making it impossible to tell who he was.

He seemed to be ignoring her, walking around casually without giving her so much as a glance. He was only a few feet away from her, his back turned as he fiddled with something ahead of him. All of a sudden the room was illuminated by two gigantic studio lights, the stark contrast blinding her. She cried out, her voice muffled from the piece of cloth she'd then realized was between her lips.

The man ignored her once again, seemingly typing away on a computer before backing up and rubbing his hands together.

And then, he began talking.

"Hello everyone." He spoke to nobody, nodding his head. Y/N's head raised in confusion, fear evident in every one of her movements. "I'm sure that it's quite obvious what's happening, so I'll make this simple."

His voice was suave and sophisticated, and had it not been for him pulling out a knife and pointing it at her face, she may have even found herself calmed by it. She whimpered against the cloth when the cool metal touched her skin, the sharpened blade threatening to dig into her cheek.
