"Congratulations, man." I said to Zac as we shake hands. "Thanks, man." Zac replied with a huge grin plastered on his face. God, he looks creepy. "You sure 'bout this?" "What? Marriage? Of course I am. I've never been so sure of anything than this." "You're crazy." Zac chuckled. "That's what love does to you. Make you go crazy, insane, out of mind, name it. But it also makes everything worth it."

Seriously, what's wrong with this guy? Less than a year ago he swore to the world that he'll never get married, and now he's proposing to a girl he only met three months ago. How crazy is that?

Thank God I am immune to that kind of stupidity. I've never been in a relationship before, and I'm sure as hell remain single if that means keeping my sanity. I like being sane, it keeps me in control of my life, keeps me safe.

"Well, good luck then. I hope you won't regret this." I took the signed papers on Zac's desk and rolled it. "I won't Gabe, trust me." I tapped the desk using the rolled paper and left Zac's office. "You can"t hide from love forever, Gabe!" I heard Zac yelled just before the door closed.

I got out of the building buried deep in thoughts. I can't hide from love? Tss. Who says I'm hiding? Its not that I don't believe in love, I just don't do relationship kind of love. Girlfriend? I'd better race cars. Marriage? I'd rather die. Love is existent, its not just applicable for me. That love you feel towards your opposite sex - same sex even - its nonexistent to me. Well, at least not in my world.

"Oh, crap." I cursed as soon as I got out of the building. Its raining so hard that everything seemed blurry. No worries. I just need to find my car. Double crap! I left my car at the restaurant. Ugh. I sighed heavily took out my iPhone.

"Cath? Are you still at the restaurant? ... You left? ... Oh, okay. ... No need, I'll just go there myself. Bye." The restaurant's not so far from here. I just need to get there w/o soaking myself and my things, especially the contract. I mentally made a note to myself to bring car wherever I go. I don't want this to happen again.

The rain lighten up a little. I spotted a girl standing in the waiting shed under an umbrella. Perfect. I placed the contract inside my jacket and warpped my arms around it. I crossed the street from the building to the waiting shed as fast as I can. Splashing little puddles on the street. I wiped my face with my hands as I got to the waiting shed.

"Excuse me, miss." I directed my words to the girl with an umbrella. She is sitting down holding her umbrella with her head bowed. I waited for some seconds for her to respond but she didn't. I repeatead my words, now with a tap on her shoulder. God, is she deaf?
