I jump up. My heart is pounding. I look around, but I see nothing. Nothing but a void of darkness. There is some kind of aftertaste in my mouth, and it is bitter. I don't know who I am, why I am there or what is going on.

"Tyla?"

I flick my hair behind my back and look towards the sound.

"Oh, thank god, I thought I'd lost you forever."

A woman materialised. She reached her hands out.

"Welcome back, honey," she said, her face telling me I'd been gone for a long time, "You haven't changed a bit though. It's been so long, for goodness sake. You should look older, not still look 15."

"Who are you?" The words spilled from my mouth in uneven squeaks. I never knew I had a voice. I was completely lost.

"Oh. You don't remember anything? Again?"

I was so confused. I have no memory of anything. Everything that might have been memory was also a blur.

"Are you telling me that my name is Tyla?" I asked her.

"Yeah. My name is... Well, you honestly don't remember?"

"No. Please, just tell me your name and everything else that could be useful."

She looked sad. As though I was supposed to know what her name was.

"You don't know, do you?" I shook my head. "Well, ok. I'm Jessi. Does the name ring a bell?"
