Chapter Seven: The Line of Succession

The Love of a friend

Katherine's POV:
Anne was in my chambers helping me dress for my wedding as I stood in front the mirror staring at my reflection watching Anne trying to make me look breath taking, I smiled at how focused she was i then sighed looking down Anne tensed and frowned at me she patted my back softly.

"Katherine you don't have to do this I can try talk to the King and- " before Anne could say anymore i turn to her taking her hands into mine.

"You and I both know he won't listen, you must take care of yourself Anne as everyone at court are watching you waiting for you to lose the baby you must prove them wrong don't risk doing anything that could danger the baby." I spoke not wanting Anne to stress, her life was in danger and i came here to save it.

"I guess you're right, I feel everyone's eyes on me as my baby bump grows just waiting for me to lose it..." Anne sighed as she looked out at the window.

"This wedding must go on Anne we both know not to anger the King." I sighed as I looked at her then smiled.

"Charles is a Duke i gain alot from this marriage and he's also a man of good looks I might have some fun after all "I giggled , Anne smirked at me and giggled.

"Maybe...."

Charles POV:
I stood in Henry's chambers as he paced around , Jane was sat down in a chair as George stood behind her as the King thought to himself about Jane's new information on her, Things have really gotten quite a mess at court lately the constant plotting and lies against Anne and Henry it felt like a daily routine, Jane came to the King telling him about her family's plan to make Anne miscarriage with poison.

"We must stop them and catch them out. In the meantime double Anne's guards and make the taster taste her food three times! My wife's belly grows each day i believe that she may be able to concieve! " Henry spoke in an angered tone.

"What would you like us to do your majesty?" I asked as he turned to look at me.

"Today focus on your wedding but after start looking for evidence against the Seymour's. Jane continue to gather information bring their letters to me if you can no doubt there will be evidence of their plot in there. George stay close to Anne make sure no one gets near her and that she is safe." Henry ordered assigning us to our roles.

We all nodded before being dismissed by Henry , I sighed looking over at Jane and George seeing him place a hand on her stomach, Katherine's threat about Anne finding it's way back into my head...I shook my head to snap me out of thoughts before leaving the Kings chambers to go get ready for the wedding.

The wedding was beautiful, Henry made sure everything was perfect he kept watching Anne carefully like she was glass he was a very confusing man sometimes , I could never tell what he was thinking or feeling , I mean of course he was confusing one minute he wanted Anne dead and the next he's protecting her at any cost maybe because the baby's birth was only getting closer and closer she also lasted longer than her other pregnancies.

Katherine stayed by her side also seeming worried for her friends health , Katherine is the woman you need to be careful of she's beautiful but scheming in a dangerous way I have no doubt that those two plotted against Jane I bet they were behind Jane's pregnancy to George, I still hate Anne with every fiber of my being i rather see her six feet under ground I don't trust that harlot for one minute but the king is a big man, He can handle his own situations.

I saw Thomas Boleyn and Henry talking causing me to sigh, Thomas was the worst of them all he knew how dangerous this was scheming around in court without the kings knowledge , He knew his children would pay the price which they almost had but of course he got lucky...Although I would love nothing more than to see the Boleyn's fall and see Anne lose another child which would decide her fate , I couldn't deny the facts Anne's bump grew bigger each day and her symptoms were signs of a healthy pregnancy.

If Anne had a son...she would become untouchable and like Katherine said she wouldn't show mercy. May God have mercy on my soul....
