Chapter Ten: The Birth of Twins

Henry's POV:

Anne was in labour, I was informed after arresting the Seymour household, I heard that Anne delivered twin's once the labour was over I rushed over to find out the genders of my two babies, I arrived to her chambers and walked inside.

Anne's maids curtsied, I looked at Katherine , she motioned that Anne was in bed resting I nodded and walked to her bedside seeing two babies wrapped in a blanket in each of her arms, she looked up her blue eyes meeting mine.

"Well?" I asked wanting to know if I had a son.

"Two healthy son's, your majesty" Anne smiled slightly.

I smiled happily and walked over, I leaned over taking a peek at the two sleeping boys in her arms.

"Two sons?" I looked at her, Anne nodded and kissed their heads.

"They are very small" Anne giggled and looked at me, I sighed as the guilt came over me after everything that's happened she ended up giving me a son , not one but two.

"Are you well?" I asked wondering how she was doing after the birth of two babies.

"Very well, I'm tired as expected." Anne spoke then looked at me "Do you wish to hold one?" She asked.

I nod and smiled at her as she passed one baby to me , I look at them both and smile happily.

"Joseph and Edward" I said looking at Anne, Anne smiled and nodded.

"Nice names for two prince's" she spoke softly.

"I think this means a celebration is in order" I spoke looking over at her "I didn't arrange anything as I wasn't sure if they would be boys" I added on.

"It's fine" she spoke softly.

Something seemed to be bothering her as I could tell from her facial experiences, I motioned for the nurse maids to come over then handed them the twin boys.

"Make sure they are fed and healthy also I want nothing bad to happen to them if anything does you will be held accountable" I stated , They nodded and walked off, I turn back to Anne.

"Sweetheart, what is bothering you?"

"It's just...word spreads rather fast here and I heard that you had the Seymour household arrested." Anne hesitated "why?" She asked.

"They threatened your life and my babies" I answered.

"Yes. I know that. Except why? I don't understand why you arrested them? If I miscarried , it would mean you could have been able to cast me off and marry another." Anne spoke her words hurting me.

"Anne..." I sighed.

"No, we cannot pretend that you were going to have me arrested on the act of treason, if it wasn't for my pregnancy I would not be here by now, I would be dead and my daughter motherless and you most likely married to that Jane." Anne said but before I could speak she continued "I don't fully understand just why you stopped loving me and were more than willing to get rid of me for Jane, Why ?" She looked at me.

I grabbed her face softly pressing my lips against hers although I wanted nothing more than to reward her for giving me two healthy baby boys and show her just how much I love her right here , right now. Anne kissed back no sign of pushing me away, I pull away and look at her.

"Enough Anne. Rest now, you just had two babies" I sighed and stood up turning away, Anne stared at me.

"Henry." Anne called out , I stopped in my steps my back still turned to her.

"Tonight, Can you sleep in my chambers ?" She asked, I looked at her over my shoulder and nodded as I continued walking.

I walked into the room filled with people and announced to the people, I had two healthy son's, soon the whole world would know, I have two sons , two heirs to the English throne.....as for now I celebrate the birth of my two boys.
