"Hey kiddos! I brought ice cream!" Patton called, kicking the door to the Side's house shut, arms full with frozen goodies and groceries. Lugging the food onto the smooth granite counter, Patton huffs due to the amount of exertion used.

Roman was already present in the kitchen before Patton brought his groceries home, and he smiled at the thought of the sweet frozen treat. Soon after, Virgil and Logan entered the room, the former wishing not to exist at the moment, and the latter engrossed in a book. Roman squealed as he examined the contents of the plastic bags.

"Are these what I think they are?!"

Virgil grumbled at the loudness Roman exhibited, plopping down in a chair and placing a mug of hot cocoa onto a coaster. Logan followed, shaking his head at Roman's remark.

"Roman, please do not state the obvious. Patton has made it clear that there is ice cream." Logan commented, eyes still glued to the printed words on paper. Patton chuckled, bringing out pristine white dinnerware for the group and serving the ice cream during the process.

"Nobody could possibly resist ice cream, right? It's just too COOL for us!" Patton jokes, snickering at his horrible dad-joke as Roman laughs along. Virgil shrunk inside of his soft hoodie, holding back a smile, as Logan saltily shut his paperback copy of "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" and smacked his face into it.

After handing out the ice cream, Patton gobbled his serving down in one bite. Logan brought his serving back to his tidy room, his reason being that he couldn't stand Patton's puns, leaving Roman and Virgil to finish off their food alone in the kitchen.

Virgil was still testing out the coolness of the ice cream, taking a huge bite out of the glob. The coldness of the treat seeped into his teeth, making him wince.

"So...cold..." He mutters, swallowing the ice cream quickly to finish. Roman glanced at him, smirking as an idea appeared in his head.

"Well, dear Virgil, would you like me to assist you by warming your mouth up?" He asked, a devious look in his eye. Virgil blushed deeply at that comment, looking away to hide the deep red creeping up onto his face while mumbling incomprehensible words.

"What did you say?" Roman asked. Virgil turned his head around to reply.

"Sure, whatever." Virgil said. Roman grinned and strutted over to Virgil, causing him to blush harder.

Roman reached behind him and took his steaming cup of hot cocoa, handing it over to Virgil.

"Here you go, dear friend! It's is delicious and will warm your mouth up immediately!" He said enthusiastically. Virgil sighed subtly in relief while taking the mug and sipping it, but he couldn't put a finger on why he felt almost upset.

His emotions felt ripped in two. On one side, he was relieved that Roman didn't do what he had thought he would do in his mind. On the other side, he was disappointed that what he imagined didn't occur.

Apparently, this deep thinking caused him to become flustered, imagining furthur at what could've happened.

"This is what you had wished for, right?" Roman's voice broke Virgil away from his thoughts. Worried, Roman believed that his fabulous friend wasn't content.

"Well...yeah. Totally." Virgil lied through his small smile, while Roman beamed brightly.

A low giggle sounded from the shadows.

"This is quite the predicament, isn't it?" Deceit murmured from his inky spot in the room.

"Hey! Get outta here!"
