Identity Crisis (A Miraculous Ladybug and Chat Noir Fanfic)

Chapter 5: Marrinete's POV

I've been with Adrien for a month now and we've gotten a lot better with keeping our identities now that we know each other's secret. Me school life hasn't been as hectic which allowed me to focus more on finding Hawkmoth. The guys a ghost and I can't find him anywhere. It was a hot afternoon, the sun in the middle of the sky, clearly noon. Our class sat outside for today's lessons. I sat on a bench by myself doing research on Hawkmoth. I promised Adrien we'd figure out who is he. I sigh and lean back, throwing my arms over my face. That's when I hear footsteps approach me and quickly look at my approacher. Thankfully it's my green eyed feline.
"Hey Marrinete, got a sec?" He asks.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I?"
"You just seem to be thinking really hard. " He chuckles.
"Yeah...heh..anyways, what's up?"
"Well, we've been wanting to spend more time together that doesn't involve you know what, right?"
"Yeah? Where's this going?"
"Well, my dad has this internship. It's only for the school and he's only accepting the best. It's an activity the school has asked of him to boost not only his ratings but the school's as well. And even better, it's a fashion internship! So what do ya say?"
"I don't know Adrien.."
"Come on, please?" He then whispers, "Please Bugaboo?"
"A-Adrien I..." I blush lightly, "I'll do it okay. When are sign ups?"
"Tomorrow." He smiles.
"TOMORROW?! I mean... tomorrow?"
"Yes? Why?"
"Nothing. Thanks for letting me know." I smile.
He nods lightly and then walks off. I won't be able to have anything ready by tomorrow. Ugh, this is stressful. That's when I start to think, maybe Adrien has seen how stressed I've been and he's trying to help me relax. I then flip to a new page in my notebook and start a rough sketch. Aliyah soon walks over and sits down next to me.
"Whatcha up to Marrinete?"
"Hey Aliyah, I'm signing up for the internship Mr. Agrest is giving."
"Really? Well good luck. I heard Chloe and Lila were signing up too. But I know you'll knock em' out the park!"
"Thanks Aliyah." I smile.
After school I quickly rush home and immediately start making my design a reality. I work all night on it, stiching, hemming, stiching, attaching, and finishing. I then close my eyes, finally ready for the peacefulness of sleep to sink in. That's when the pounding in my head starts to ring. It's like somebody's playing basketball inside my room. I open my eyes and look at the clock. I STAYED UP ALL NIGHT?! I know it felt like I stayed up the whole night but I didn't expect to actually have had spent the whole night on my piece. I then facepalm and change for school. I head into the bathroom and do my normal routine before heading out into the kitchen where my dad was making pancakes, and my mom pouring juice.
"Good morning Marrinete." She says.
"Morning mom." I smile.
"Morning Marrinete."
"Morning Dad." I yawn.
"Did you have a tough time sleeping last night?" My mom asks.
"Yeah, I stayed up working on a school project. Speaking of which I should get going. Thanks for breakfast." I say, grabbing my things.
"Anytime dear!" My mom calls after me, for I'm already out the door.
I walk sluggishly to school and once there I'm met with Adrien waiting for me at the stairs.
"Marrinete? Are you alright?"
"I'm fine Adrien." I smile.
"Are you sure? You don't look so good. We're you up all night?"
"Don't worry so much, I'm fine. Really. Just trust me."
"I always do." He smiles softly.
We go to turn into the school when suddenly a woman laughing like crazy approaches the school.
"I'll show all of you! Suffer a broken heart!" She yells.
She then whips her staff around and blasts someone in the back. That person then starts crying and runs off. We turn our attention back to her as she whips her staff around again. This time she aims it at me.
"Marrinete!" Yells Aliyah.
Aliyah jumps in front of me taking the hit. Her face goes fire engine red and her fists tighten.
"How dare you Marrinete!" She yells.
That at least tells me where the Akuma is. But now to shake Aliyah. I run to the side of the school and go I'm through I side door to reach the locker room. Once inside I quickly pull Tikki out of my pocket.
"Tikki, spots on!"
I finish transforming and just in time too. Aliyah broke through the door and our eyes locked.
"Where's Marrinete?!"
"She's safe. Now, sorry about this."
I grab some nearby rope from today's supposed to be planned tug of war game, and I quickly tie Aliyah up. Soon after Adrien comes running in.
"Good you're safe. Alright, come on Plagg! Claws out!"
As Adrien transforms into Chat Noir, I run out the bathroom to try and get a head start on little miss Heartbreaker. As I confront her with Chat, the woman's eye become enraged.
"Ladybug and the little kitty...your love is something that I will shatter! And your miraculous will be mine!" She yells at the two of us.
I place a hand on my hip and smirk.
"Good luck with that." I tell her.
She smirks, "Thanks. I'll need it."
I tilt my head at her. It was the first time an Akuma thanked her for something. It was strange and dazed her. That's when something felt wrong. Was she trying to distract me? I quickly snap out of it and grab my yo-yo. I grin, and stand tall.
"Ready kitty?" I ask him.
"Ladybug.." he says deeply.
I look over at Chat and his head was hanging low.
"What is it? We don't have time for games right now."
"Oh Ladybug...you make my heart hurt...won't you give me your miraculous to make me feel better?"
"What? Chat...what are you?"
Chat Noir looks up at me and all I can sense from him is hatred. That's when I realized, the Akuma had distracted me and somehow hit Chat Noir with her staff. My eyes widen.
"Kitty..no!" I shout.
"I hate you ladybug. Now give me your miraculous!" He yells.
Chat lunges at me. I dodge with ease.
"Kitty! You've got to snap out of it!"
"I'll feel better once I have your Miraculous!"
I had to think quickly. I can't do this alone. After thinking for a long moment I knew what I had to do.
"Sorry about this kitty!" I tell him.
I pull out my back up yo-yo and tie Chat Noir to a pole. He struggles to break free, but the rope was tight making it hard to break free. Quickly, I rush off in search for Master Fu. I find him quickly, and gather my allies. I first approach Nino, and he transforms with Ways. Then, I approach Luka and he transforms with Sazz. Finally, I approach Chloe. She was on her roof standing by her Queen Bee spotlight.
"Where is she?!" Chloe complains.
I hated that I needed Chloe, but nonetheless I did indeed need her.
"Chloe." I say sternly.
Chloe turns quickly. Her face lights up with excitement as she rushes towards me.
"I knew you'd come around! So what are we fighting?" She asks, looking for her miracu box.
I sigh and hand her the box. "Chloe, this is important. Chat Noir has already fallen victim to the Akuma. We need cooperation."
She nods, "Of course Ladybug. You can count on me! Now, Pollen..buzz on!"
Chloe transforms into Queen Bee, and together all of my allies that I recruited for this gather with me. We quickly find the Akuma who was being guarded by a free Chat Noir.
"Your time is up Akuma!" I shout.
"Awe, you brought your friends to help. How adorable." She mocks.
"Oh yeah? How about we bring some luck to our side then? Lucky charm!"
What falls into my hands is a heart pin. I didn't quite understand it yet, but I know I soon would. Hang on Kitty...I'll save you yet.
