13. The Audition

A/N Hey guys :) Im  just going to skip a few months here so yeah. So now Ailsa has been gone for two months and the boys had just returned from a tour :)

Kates P.O.V

I felt the chilly winter air on the back of my neck as i rushed into the drab gray building. I drew in my breath. I wish someone was here with me. I stopped just before i reached the double sliding doors. This was what i have been waiting my whole life, my future is behind these doors. I steeled myself and pushed the door open.

Gemmas P.O.V

"Kath!" I called to my PA. Where is is? She's ment to be here.

"Yes?" A small, plump, middle aged woman came bustling into my office.

"Where were you! I expected you 20 minutes ago!" I usually wasn't this rude but they had promised me a good new PA, but so far she was crap.

"Im-m So-so sorry." She stuttered. I let my breath out in an angry huff.

"Im expecting my next auditonee in 10 minutes and nothing is set up! Go and do it! And find Johnny. He has to set up the camera." I yelled at her retreating back as she scuttled of to do what i asked. I huffed again and shuffled through the papers on my desk, looking for the exact one. I grabbed the one i wanted and held it up to my face. It was the next person who was coming to audition. It read;

Name: Kate Wawn

Age: 17

Audition Song:  Battle Scars- Guy Sebastian

I studied her picture. She looks young. She has a pretty face, she'll do well. Im not to keen on her song choice. Guy Sebastian is pretty tough to pull off. Maybe this wont be as good as i thought.

I glanced at my watch. She'll be here in five. I stood up and walked towards the audition room

Louis P.O.V

As we drove through the winding streets of London i bounced up and down on my seat, bursting with excitement. Niall looked at me before bursting out laughing.

"What are you so excited about?" he asked, still laughing.

"We get to see the girls!" I replied, the excitement bubbling over in my voice.

"Girls?!?" Harry said, startled from his sleep.

"Yes Harry." Zayn sighed before turning back to his precoius mirror. I laughed and continued bouncing.

"Umm...where are the girls?" Harry questioned, now fully awake. Niall laughed again. This time at Harry.

"harry. why do you think you're here?" Niall asked Harry. A look of relisation crossed his face.

"Oh.....ohhhhh" He smiled. "never mind i know why were here now." he poked out his tounge and smirked cheekily whilst Niall cracked himself laughing. I shook my head in a laugh and turned to look out the window.

Kate's P.O.V

I fidgeted as i waited in the small, cramped waiting room. The air in here was stifling. I glanced at the recpetionist. She had to be in her early 50's, maybe late forties?? i don't know. he really didnt look like she belonged in this place. It was all modern and hip and there she was. I sighed. i shouldnt be thinking these thoughts especially if the people in this buliding can decide my fate.

I went back to tapping my fingers on my CD case. The plush chair was starting to get uncomfortable when suddenly the door to my right opened and a girl in about the same age aaas me came in. I stood up. This must be Gemma. I sucked in my breath and tried to stop my legs from shaking. She extended her hand to me

"You must be Kate.Im Gemma." I Shook her hand in a tight handshake. I smiled tentivily.

"Come with me." She gustured for me to follow her. I followed her into a large square room fitted with a recording desk and a small sound-proof room. I gasped. I thought this would just be a small backing track. Gemma looked at me with an amused expression on her face.

"Im guessing you thought this would be a small audition?" She grinned.

"Well....uh ...yeah." I said nodding, unsure of what to do. She laughed.

"Yeah most people do but i like to see if you'll be ok with everything right from the start." She said. Well that kinda makes sense, i think. I handed her my CD

"Ok, can you just step in there and stand infront of the microphone." She asked. I nodded again. I walked to the right hand side of the booth and pushed open a little door. I gasped a little as the cool air hit me. I have never in my whole life felt this professional before. As i stood infront of the microphone Gemma gestured for me to put the headphones on that were lying on a small table to the side. As soon as i put them on i heard her voice. 

"Ok when your ready i'll start the music." I nodded to her.

"Ok You ready?" I nodded again. She pressed play. I closed my eyes, drew a breath and sang.

As soon as the last note left my mouth i slowly opened my eyes. I heard Gemma gasp. I looked at her, she looked surprised. I put my head in my hands.

"Was i really that crap?" I groaned.She slowly shook her head, obviously gapsing for words.

"That-that was amazing." She gasped. I blushed.

"Well no need to say anymore. I am going to sign you." I stood there shell-shocked. I didnt expect this to happen.
