14. Celebration Dinner

Liam’s p.o.v

 I sat in the girls’ kitchen fiddling with the edge of the placemat in front of me as my foot tapped to an unheard beat. Harry looked over at me.

 "Li, it's gonna be fine." he comforted me placing a hand on my shoulder. They all knew I was worrying about Kate's audition. I was the first to know, she called me as soon as she got the audition date. I really wanted her to get it. It would mean a lot to me, and her. I sighed out my breath loudly. Hazz glanced at me again before joining back into the conversation. My fingers joined my foot in harmony. I glanced at the clock. It was 1.00. She should have been back ages ago.

Kate's P.O.V

 I stumbled up the stairs trying to control my excitement. Sarah texted me earlier to see where I was. Gemma had kept me back a bit longer than what was planned so I could record a song for her. She told me that the boys were already there. As I jumped up the last step to the elevator I heard the bell ding as it arrived. I sprinted the last three meters to the elevator, skidding in just before the doors snapped shut, colliding with something warm and hard.

 "Oh shit! I'm so sorry." I cursed looking up at me. I gasped. He looked amazing. His bright blue eyes sparkled with mischief which matched his light brown hair that covered his head in a curly mop.

 "Hey, it's ok babe. Didn't do any damage to me." he winked. I shook my head, a smirk in my face. Cheeky barstad.

 "Oh really?" I asked rhetorically, cocking my head to the side. He reminds me to much of Harry.

 "Oh yes." he smirked back. I heard a ping and the doors of the elevator snapped together and we began to ascend. I gave him a sly look out of the corner of my eye, making him snort with laughter.

 "What?!" I said

 "Nothing." he laughed. He stuck out his hand.

 "I'm Fletcher." he said. I regarded it curiously before taking it in my own and shaking.

 "I'm Kate." I smiled and let go. The elevator pinged again and the doors opened at my floor.

 "This is my floor." I said to him, smiling.

 "It was nice meeting you Miss Kate." he said cheekily.

 "It was nice to meet you to Sir." I said with a mock curtsy as I left the elevator and have him one last wave. He gave me a wink before the elevator doors shut.

 I giggled to myself as I made my way to the apartment. Fumbling with the keys I let myself in to be greeted with 8 very expectant looking faces. A thought flashed through my hard as I pretended to be upset. Their faces dropped instantly. Liam got up slowly and made his way to me.

 "It's ok babe there's always another go." he said looking as if he was about to cry.

 "Why the long faces guys?" I asked breaking into a grin. All of a sudden the girls erupted into screams.

 "YOU GOT IT DIDN'T YOU!?" Naomi yelled. I nodded vigoursly just to be rewarded with more screams. This time from Louis and Harry. Everyone rushed up to me and launched themselves into a group hug. Liam grabbed me and pulled me in for a kiss. He lent his forehead against mine.

 "I'm so proud of you babe." he whispered to me. I smiled and kissed him again.

 As I pulled out of the kiss I felt a hand on my shoulder.

 "Like, Oh Em Gee!! I'm like, so proud of you gurlfriend!" Harry said in his best camp voice. I smacked him on the shoulder.

 "Aww thanks Hazz." I giggled as he pulled me in for a hug. I received hugs from everyone else and then made my way to the dining room. Sarah rushed out of the room quickly followed by Louis. I glanced after them quizzically

“They’re making dinner.” Molly said as she passed me. I nodded and sat down. Liam on my left and Harry on my right. 2 minutes later Sarah and Louis came in loaded with trays and plates filled with food. My mouth started watering instantly. Sarah sat across from me and smiled.

“A toast to Kate! Well done babe!” She said as she raised her glass and we all clinked ours together. I sipped mine and set it down on the table before reaching for the nearest set of tongs.
