It was time to tutor Taehyung. Meet the one and only platinum. And Jungkook was dreading it. Every step he took, he felt like turning around and running home.
It wasn't that he was scared of Taehyung, he'd never even met the boy. It was how he thought Taehyung would be. Would he act like a nuisance? A pain in the ass? A narcissist? Or maybe all three.
" I don't want to do this. I don't. " Jungkook mumbled over and over to himself. " I need a coffee. " He said to himself before running to the lunch hall.
Jungkook was now seated in the library waiting for Taehyung. He was sipping on his warm coffee. He absolutely didn't want to be in school for another whole hour, and what made it worse was that Taehyung want half an hour late.
In that half an hour Jungkook did many things, he finished his textiles project plan, finished his homework, and revised for science.
Jungkook began dazing off. His eyelids begining to feel heavy, he slowly shut them, laying his head on his books.
Jungkook was back there. Years ago, sitting on the swings, being pushed by Hyungwon. Jungkook waved in his hands in the air, squealing, his smile bright. " Hyungwon! I'm gonna fall off."
Hyungwon chuckled, " then hold the ropes, and beside, I'll never let you fall. Okay? "
It was like Jungkook watching a movie. Two boys playing near the trees, laughing, talking and smiling. Oh how bitter it was.
Every time Jungkook went up in the air, and felt the cool breeze brush through his locks, he smiled and closed his eyes. He felt the warmth always in his heart, and never wanted moments with Hyungwon to stop.
" Hyungwon! I'm thirsty. " Jungkook shouted to Hyungwon, who ran to their backpacks and grabbed it for Jungkook, and opened it for him.
Jungkook was swaying on the swings still, and smiled with bunny teeth to Hyungwon after he passed the water bottle to him.
" One day .... " Hyungwon said, settling himself on the soft, warm grass.
" One day, what? " Jungkook asked, getting down from the swing, sitting down next to him.
" One day, we are gonna get out of here. Together. This town, it's messed up and one day, the both of us, we're not going to run. We are going to fly. To somewhere far. And it's just going to be us. I promise. Best friends for life. We stick together. " He said, looking up to the sky smiling.
Jungkook sighed, " don't be silly. "
Hyungwon turned to him and furrowed his eyebrows at him, " what do you mean? "
" We have both got parents that want us to get somewhere in life. They don't want us to have fun. They want us to make something of ourselves. "
Out of the two, Jungkook was always the more realistic one. It was something about Jungkook, he didn't know why, but he always crushed his own dreams because he knew they weren't possible. He wasn't a go getter, he was anything but that. Hyungwon however, he dreamed.
And one day he dreamed of Jungkook and him being away from everyone else, and it just being them.
Hyungwon held Jungkook's hand, and he held it tightly and quietly said, " that's why we should leave. They don't want us to leave and discover. We should be able to rediscover, and paint our own paths. "
Jungkook hummed, and looked at the sun setting, " this is our path. Let's stick to it. "
" Jungkook....you don't know it, but I know that you're going to end up somewhere, where you are truly happy. And if you're not happy, then that must mean I'm not alive. "
