CHAPTER 8

Katelyn's POV

I sat on the counter top, well eating my cereal. Em has been out all yesterday and today with her cousin and his band mates -not that I minded! I knew she was going to spend a lot of time with them. The only thing bothering me is that I have hardly seen Niall. I have hung out with the other boys -not 5SOS-, but I just want to hang out with him. I mean, he's my cousin and is on tour a lot, with his band -that is growing more famous. It's like Niall doesn't want to be around me -like I have done something wrong? I sighed and put my empty bowl in the sink, beside me. I rested my elbows on my knees and laid my head in them.

"Kate?" An Irish voice asked. Niall. "Are you okay?"

I looked up. "Am I okay? I should be asking you that." I stood up. I limped over to Niall, my foot still hurt, but I ignored it. "What is up with you?! You have been back like 3 days, and we only spent and evening together -and we had everyone else with us."

Niall looked guilty and it made me sad. I didn't want to make him feel like he was a bad cousin -he was a great one! I just wanted to know if he was okay.

"I just want to know if you okay." I said, in a low voice. I took my hand, and placed it in his.

He looked down at our hands and back at me. "Honestly, I-I just," He sighed "I don't even know. I'm sorry. How about you and me got out. Right now. We can go shopping, we can go-"

I cut him off. "Can we go shopping at a little book store and then go for lunch and ice-cream?"

He smiled. "This is why we are cousins -minus the book part."

I stuck my tongue out at him. "I'm going to get dressed."

I let go if his hand and tried to run up the stairs, that's when I remembered my foot. "Niall." I asked, as I pouted. "Can you help me up to my room?"

"Sure thing."

I put my arm around his shoulders as he but his around my waist. We walked up the stairs. We turned around the corner by the bathroom and reached my room. That's when I remembered what my room looked like. 5 Seconds Of Summer posters, my 5 Seconds Of Summer clothes and jewelry. Then Em and I made a little wall for One Direction. I had something's up from my friends back at home and more posters from all the books I have read and other bands I listen too. That I didn't care about. But the 5SOS and 1D thing -I would never live it down. I looked up at Niall.

"Thanks. I got it from here."

"Are you sure?"

I smiled. "Yeah. I'll meet you down stairs, in a few seconds. Okay?"

"Sure." We let go of each other. I looked at him and smacked the back of his head. "Ow! What was that for?!"

"You were supposed to say okay. Okay?"

"Okay."

"Ugh. Now I want to cry."

Niall looked at me, like I was crazy. "I don't get you."

"None of us do, mate!" Jake yelled, from his bedroom, which was across from mine.

"It's fandom talk. You don't understand. Only Chris-" I stopped myself. Chris was coming on Tuesday. It was Sunday. I have to get her room ready.

"Kate? You okay?" Niall asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.

"Chis is coming tomorrow. I have to get her a desk, we already have a bed in there, and we need a night stand and a lamp! Niall! Let's go shopping!"

"Shopping?" I heard a voice say. I was talking so much that I didn't hear the door open.

I looked and seen Em walking up the stairs with the other 4 boys following her. "Chris is coming on Tuesday and I need some stuff for her room. Niall was going to take me shopping and then I'm going to get some books!" I was so happy and excited that I would be jumping up and down -if it wasn't for my foot.

"Can I come?" She asked. Then looked at Niall. "I-I mean if you weren't having any cousin time."

Niall looked at me. I smiled. "Its fine! Come with us -but all the boys, have to come." he said. I heard all the doors of the rooms the boys were staying in open. The boys stuck their heads out.

"What?" They asked.

"You all are coming with us shopping!" I said. "And one of the boys is buying lunch!"

"Why not the girls?" Sam asked.

"Because." Em and I said.

"I'm buying the stuff for Chris." I spoke.

Niall turned to me.

"What? Kate you don't have money for a lamp, a desk, a nightstand and everything else, you're buying her!"

I scoffed. "Niall, I have a job. Like really."

All they boys looked at me like I was crazy. The other day, Em and I went out and I walked pasta book store. They had a 'hiring sign up. I needed a job so I walked in. When I walked out I had it. I am actually really happy. I wanted to go and get my outfit for work. I seen it and I think they were shorts and a t-shirt. Like a school uniform. Emily, Chad and I were the only people that knew -until now.

"You got a job?" Louis asked. I nodded proudly. "Awww!" He cooed "Our little Kate is growing up."

"Shut up." I muttered. "I'm going to go get dressed."

"I'm coming to help you pick out and outfit. You need to make a good impression. And what if there are boys there?" She wiggled her eyebrows, in a joking matter.

The boys opened there mouths to speak. "She is kidding. Now go get ready." I shooed them all off. When they all left, I opened my door.

"Why don't you want them to see your room?" Em asked, when I shut the door.

"Umm, have you seen my wall?" I pointed to all the 5SOS things. I then pointed to the wall I let her decorate. "And your wall?"

"Whatever, let's get you ready."
