Shooting up in my bed, a ghostly scream escapes my lips as memories of the dream floods my mind,
So much blood.
So much pain.
So much sorrow.
Tears fled down my face, the dream felt so real, all I saw was a shadow shooting Alex, then hitting me in the face with the butt of the gun, knocking me out.
There was so much darkness, it just faded all in at once. Everything was so painful, the worst dream I've ever had by far, I've never felt so bad about a dream.
"Cher?" A voice caught me off guard, as I stare up from the ball of blankets I've nested myself in, hiding the fact I was crying, I wiped the tears, something I'm used to doing. "Yeah?" I replied, scratching my cheek, as the sun shined in, blinding me.
"Why are you crying?" He asked, sitting next to me, "I wasn't." I buried my face in the blankets, as the sun pasted through the white curtains, "I'm not stupid."
"You sure?" I raised an eyebrow, peeking out of the blankets, "I'm serious, why were you crying?" He asked, as I continue to suffocate myself in the blankets.
"Bad dream." I replied quickly, not wanting to go into details, "Same." He shrugs, as a loud noise bangs downstairs.
Getting off the bed, I grabbed my sweater throwing it on to cover my near bare body, opening my door cold air hits my body, as I shiver uncontrollably, "Fuck sake." A hiss escapes my quivering lips as I shake it off, walking slowly down the stairs.
Stopping on the bottom stair, "Mom?" I whisper faintly, as people barge in with hospital stuff, "Mom?" I whisper again, as she pays me no attention, crying. "Mom?! What's going on?" I pause, "What are these people doing here? Is dad okay?" I start to panic, as she turns around and stares at me.
"Mom?" I repeat myself, as her glance goes before me, she's not staring at me, I turn around to see dad, standing there with teary eyes.
"You did this! You killed her!" My mom screamed at my dad, as he shook his head back and forth quickly, "Killed who? What are you guys talking about?" I move out of the way, as my mom pushes past my dad, walking up the stairs.
"Alex, what's happening? What the fuck!" I scream, as tears fled down my face, "I don't know." He answered, "What did you dream about, anyway?" I asked, trying to take my mind off what happened just now.
"Eh something happened, you kissed me and weird shit was happening, then I felt a really sharp pain and before I woke up a shadow had knocked you out," He said quickly, as my eyes widened.
I felt my knee's going.
There.
Is.
No.
Way.
"No." I shook my head quickly, "No-no-no." I repeated, "What?" He asked, squinting slightly, obviously very confused at the fact I was unable to talk like a normal human being.
Leaning back first on the wall, my stomach rose, then fell just as fast, as my heart pounds hard.
Calming myself down, he sits there patiently waiting for me to reply, "I had the same dream Alex, the exact same, but I barely remember it, it just happened, and it felt so real, I felt a horrible feeling," Tears fell down my face, as my lungs started to hurt.
"My parents wont acknowledge me." I sighed, changing the subject slightly, "There's police here." I continued to list off whats wrong with this situation, "And we both had a weird dream, same details, same thing."
"And we both died in the dream,"
"You do realize how fucking insane you sound, right?" He raises his eyebrows, "Fine, explain." I flail my arms sarcastically, as thoughts and regrets go through my mind, "I didn't say you were wrong, I said you sounded insane." He grinned, as the house fell silent.
"Are we dead?" I ask in all seriousness, "Probably." He shrugs as I stare down at him, sliding down against the wall, "There's got to be an explanation, people don't just have weird dreams then BAM they're dead." I sigh loudly, as banging comes down the stairs again, "Maybe it wasn't a dream." He stopped grinning, as a dead feeling surrounded my body, as fear gathered up inside of me.
"He did it! He killed our baby!" My mom screamed, as her mascara flooded her cheeks, "I didn't kill her!" He screamed harshly back at my mom, as pink veins popped out of his neck.
Blackness faded into my vision, as my body felt numb again, a true, dead, feeling held my body like a mother does its baby.
For years, I've been a fool to think theres only one reality, you die, and nothing happens.
