Chapter 6: MY powers

“ Who am I? Who am I? I am your trainer. I am also another young fellow trainer as well. I am Alistair Nobles.”

I don’t know how to describe what I am feeling right now. I would say shocked and confused but it is so much more than that. Here is this man, who claims I have powers, says he knows my future, and says he is my trainor. I think that is just to hard to believe.

“ I know it is hard to believe me, but trust me, you are the saviour of earth.”

I looked him dead in the eyes. He had soft hazel eyes, and around them he has a lot of wrinkles, showing how old he is.

“ Who is this man that you talking about? The one you said that you train him too. Is he like me? Even though I don’t know what you are talking about.” I hope he can answer all of my questions, for I am known for asking a lot of questions.

“ Ah, Daniel Hornsby. He was also hit during the earthquake, which made him get the ability of fire. He only has the element fire, unlike you. You have all of them. He lives in England, currently. Which is by the way, destroyed. He will soon be training with you.”

“ So youre saying that my powers are the elements.” I don’t know how I feel about this. Does this mean I have to leave everything behind to save the earth.

“ See for yourself,” he simply says. “ Look at your hands, and think of an element. Of course, with more practice, you can do this gradually.”

I looked down at my hands, and slowly thought of air. I don’t know why I chose air. I just felt like it. It wasn’t coming. I know this is all just a prank, but then how I am here. Suddenly, like if it were swirling, air came in. It was just hovering over my cold hands. The scenery looked beautiful I must say. It looked angelic. I was amazed. How can I do this? And why choose me? I am pretty sure there are better people than me.

I looked at Alistair and he simply smiled, like he was proud of me.

“ Why me? Why do I have these powers? There are so many people in the world better than me that are right for the job.”

“ You see Ernestine. There are billions of people, trillions. But none of them are like you. Everyone's the same, except you. You were chosen by us. We watched you for all of your life, and we did the same for Daniel.” He stood up from his chair, and made a whooshing motion with his hands. Everything started to blur.

“ In your hut, there will be an address. Go there everyday. Tell your mother you are exploring. Please do it.”

And almost like nothing, I was back. I am back in my tiny hut. I looked down, and saw a crumbled paper that had an address with black ink.
