The Four Elements Of Life

Chapter 1: Before the earthquake that changed life

“ So as I was saying, the earths layers are…..”

I don’t really pay much attention in Mr. Lamentins science class. I was just staring outside of the window. It was autumn here in Canada and it was already getting cold. The red leaf fell off of the tree I usually sit at afterschool. That tree has been there ever since I joined at LongFellow Highschool. I was a junior here, and i was at the gate classes even though I dont really pay attention. I remeber like it was yesterday.

My life was so simple. I go to school and learn sometimes. Then I go to my tree, sit there drawing or reading a book, and go home. I didn’t really have that much friends because people found me weird for some reason. Most girls like girly stuff, and I like edgy rock music. I must say though I am weird. One day, walking home from school, I found a dead bird on the ground, and I just stared at it. I like to figure out how things work so obviously I picked it up and took it home. At my house, I studied one of its wings, and figured out how it moves it, which part you have to pull, and so much more. I know I am weird but I was wearing gloves so don’t judge me. How am I kidding. Everyone secretly judeges me, and that is what I hate about society. People just silently judge others, but sooner or later things will change. Boy was I right.

I pretended to right down notes but I really wasn’t. Go Me. At approxiamently 12:00 oclock, our world was destroyed. The biggest earthquake known to man kind occured. It destroyed half of the planet, and I was right smack in the middle of it. I was hiding under my desk wondering would I survive, and hoping that my best friend Anell is okay in her other class. The floor rumbled and tumbled. Just like that, the ground parted and lifted my desk and I up, and I hit myself so hard, I knocked out. It happened that fast.

Now looking back I wish I didn’t get knocked out, but then I wouldn’t be where I am at right now. But let me give you a brief idea of what happened.

So basically, the earthquake lasted 5 minutes. 5 DREADED MINUTES. During those 5 minutes, the land parted, people were dying, dust was everywhere, our world crumbling bit by bit, and diseases spread. No one new how or what caused the earthquake, but all we knew was that our world had changed. For the greater, and for the worse. But of course I didn’t know any of that until I woke up from my coma.
