Today was the day. The great big day where I met my partner in crime. I don't really care about meeting her, because honestly if she hasn't learned how to control her powers, she is useless. Right now, Alistair is speaking to her about everything, the earthquake, the reason why, him being an alien, and so on and so forth. I would love to see her face when he tells her he is part of the evil group. When I first found out, I blacked out for a minute. But of course, everyone is different. I am currently in the basement of the building, looking around the rubbish. There are some interesting stuff, but mainly it is rubbish. Everything is covered in debris, and I can see the little scratches on every little item. It kind of fascinates me how Alistair has all of this. There are tvs, furniture, old toys, dresses, antique dolls, and etcetera. I wonder for a long time, when a sudden thought enters my useless brain.
I see my younger self, in the orphanage, asking my caretaker when my mum is going to come back. My caretaker, Lily, would look at me, with sadness in her light blue eyes, and says the same thing everytime. " Daniel, your mother left you here, because she couldn't take care of you. Your father didn't have the money to provide a child. So when you were born, they made the descision to bring you here. Sooner, or later, they will visit you. If the future wants you to meet them, then it will." At the end, her eyes would be glossy, and she sighs. Everyday after that, I would hope that my mum will come, and visit. Every other day, I would ask Lily again and again when. I should have know how fucking stupid I was.
I wonder if the orphanage is still here but I doubt it. I am push back to reality, with a tear rolling down my cheek. I run my hands through my hair, which shows that I am frustrated. If only I knew as a child, that my mum left for good. She didn't want me. She didn't want this broken little boy. She didn't want to find him drinking at the end of the day, talking to himself, drowning his anger with every gulp. She wouldn't want that, but I still did it.
I have to stop myself from getting more emotional, and so I grabbed a stuffed monkey. I thow it across the room, hoping my anger will go out, but it doesn't. It is pointless. No matter how many times I try to fake my way into making people think that I am happy, because I am fucking not. I am failing every class, except English, because I get to read classical novels. I get to read, and imagine my life in the book, how it would be so much better.
" What," I hear a voice shriek, interrupting my thought. Since it was female, I am guessing it is Ernestine. I already hate this damn girl, and I havent even meet her. I think that is my cue to go up there, even though I know Alistair would be dissapointed, but I dissapoint everyone. If I am rude to her, it is not my fault, I don't give a shit. I rush upstairs, leaving the basement, and head to the living room. I stop at the door, thinking if this is a good idea, but I push my thoughs aside, and open the door.
I first see golden eyes, behind the black rims of her glasses. She has black hair with a few streaks of red, and I must say she is dazzingly beautiful. Her skin is light with her lips red. I am staring at her, and she is staring at me.
        " Hello. "
