You say you love me,
With a smile stretching far.
Your forehead crinkles,
And your eyes shine like diamonds.
But I know better.
Your voice is faltering,
And I hear the annoyance in it.
I look at your eyes,
But they're filled with disappointment.
And that's just the thing.
You probably don't notice;
Acting this way.
Yet, I do.
And, it haunts me,
Every time I close my eyes.
Now, all I feel is
Hurt,
Guilt,
Sadness,
Desperation,
And an overwhelming fear that it will always be-
Like this.
Lately, I can't be with you without bothering you.
And, somehow,
It feels like it will never change.
I'm sorry,
About everything.
I'm trying my best,
But I know it's not working.
I can't do much more.
You say you love me,
But, now, I'm not so sure.
