Chapter 9: Another Day

POV of Lillian/Tigress

Madame Paon wasn't tiering. I was though. It wouldn't be long before she caught up to me. Where is that Turtle? He said he was going to help me.

I jumped to another tree and my legs gave way. They were too tired and sore from all the jumping and hard landings. I fell. Fall. Falling. Falling. The trees spiraled above me and I landed on my back on the ground. The air was knocked out of me. I gasped. My breathing was weird. I heard a thud. Madame Paon probably, finding this the perfect moment to steal my Miraculous. 

I passed out.

"Tigress. Tigress. Come on!" I blinked open my eyes to see Jade Turtle kneeling next to me.

"Where is she?"

"Madame Paon? She's gone. Her miraculous was beeping. She used up all her time."

"Thank goodness!" I sighed. "As you can see, I couldn't keep up the chase any longer."

"Are you alright?"

I sat up and thought about it. "Actually, I don't feel too bad. Especially since I just fell from a tree onto pavement."

"Hah, yeah."

Jade Turtle's miraculous beeped.

"When did you uses your power?" I asked.

"To protect you. You were unconscious and I wasn't sure what I could do to stop her, so I just sat and waited for her miraculous to run out of energy."

"Wow, thank you so much! You're a great hero, but you should go. We don't want you to transform back right here, now do we?"

"I guess not." He stood up and waved at me before running down the street.

I stood up and slowly walked back to my house. A block away I swung up into the trees so that I could land behind my house without anyone seeing. 

When I landed in my yard, I de-transformed and limped inside. Zeena nagged me for a pepper, but I was way too exhausted to think about that. I flopped on my bed and fell asleep.

"Did you hear about the fight Tigress and Jade Turtle had against Madame Paon?" Alma asked me in math.

"I saw something about it on the news this morning," I lied. "What do you think is up with this Madame Paon?"

"I dunno. She seemed pis-"

"Language." Callie cut in.

"Sorry, I didn't know the language police was here."

"Come on Alma, you know better than to swear." I commented.

Miss Wheeler walked in. She looked really bad. I felt awkward being there with her, after what had happened, things had changed. Of course, she doesn't know that because she didn't know I was the one who saved her, but that doesn't change anything for me. 

"What is it with you two? Y'all are like the only two in the entire grade who don't like swearing."

"Actually," Callie began. "I was just trying to protect Lillian's precious little ears." Callie took me by the shoulders and shook me like a little child.

"Thanks."

"Good morning class! After the events of yesterday, we are going to have a special class today. As a school, we have decided to set up a sort of therapy thing. It appears that these attacks are going to be a regular thing like in France.
