Chapter 17

I feel so comfortable buried underneath the heavy comforter with tons of pillows surrounding my body, but there was an annoying shaking that was trying to wake me up. I let out a groan before turning onto my back, pulling the covers up to my chin as I ignore whatever was trying to ruin my slumber. I can hear some mumbling next to me, but my ears weren't fully working at the moment. I sigh, feeling my body starting to fall back into a deep sleep.

Until that shaking brings me back from the wonderful dreamland that I desperately wanted to dive into. I can hear the distortion of Julian's voice become even clearer now as I realize that he was the one trying to wake me. I let out a louder groan, trying to tell him to get away from me, but I knew he wouldn't give up that easy. "Baby, you gotta wake up."

I feel soft lips press against my neck while his hand lightly rubs my bare stomach. I reach down, grabbing his hand before placing it over my eyes to block the light that was on in the hotel room. He chuckles lightly before taking his hand away and pressing his lips against mine. It doesn't take long for me to respond back to him, moving my lips along with his. I moan lightly, reaching my hand up to wrap around his neck. The kiss is over way too soon when he pulls away and crawls off the bed.

I let out a whine, holding my hands out in a grabby motion to tell him that I wanted him back. He just chuckles again, grabbing my bag to place it on the bed next to me. "We gotta get moving, beautiful. I have a surprise for you."

"What time is it?" I ask, my voice still hoarse from sleep. I rub my eyes with my palms before looking up at Julian, who was already showered and ready for the day ahead of us. It was still dark outside and the moon was still up high in the sky as I could see from the huge balcony doors next to the bed.

"It's currently 3:21 AM," he tells me, glancing at his watch before digging through my bag for something. He takes a few moments before pulling out some black joggers, a light gray t-shirt, and my pink hoodie. He throws them onto me before sitting back in his place on the bed with his phone and a cup of coffee. "get dressed."

I let out a sigh before sliding out of bed as slow as possible and pulling on the comfortable clothes. Julian watched my every move the entire time before motioning me over to him once I was done. I crawl back into the huge bed, settling myself in a straddling position on his lap so I could settle my head on his shoulder. "I'm tired."

"I know, beautiful, but you'll have fun with what I have planned," he whispers into my ear before running his hand through my hair. I let out a small whimper as I desperately wanted to go back to sleep because I was feeling dizzy from not having much of it. Julian and I had stayed at the beach for a while, probably until one in the morning, which meant we only slept two and a half hours.

"Did you even sleep?" I whisper to him, getting comfortable with my arms around his neck while my head nuzzles into his neck. One of his hands was still running through my hair while the other one was placed firmly against my back.

"Not really, I fell asleep for a few minutes, but then ended up watching TV," he tells me before pushing me back lightly, so he could see my face. When he looks into my eyes, his lips quirk up into a smile. He reaches up, running the tip of his thumb over the bags under my eyes. I whimper like a sad puppy, just wanting to crawl back into bed and cuddle with him until I fell back asleep. "come on, you can sleep in the car. It'll be about a 45-minute drive."

I nod my head before sliding off his lap and sitting on the edge of the bed. Julian hands me his cup of coffee before grabbing my socks and shoes. He puts them on for me as I sip at the hot drink that tasted like heaven right now. Once he finished tying my shoes, he grabs the mug and sets it on the nightstand before gripping my hand. We walk silently to the elevator before he pulls me into a hug while we wait to get down to the lobby. I let out a sigh as I press my cheek against his chest, nuzzling my face against it.
