I look around the room at the setup that we finally finished after hours of prep and work. The stage had two huge bouquets of white flowers on either side, bringing a light and airy feeling to the entire room. On each wall was a donation box with a poster that held the Home Our Community logo along with a few short words about some of our kids and why they were here. The tables held beautiful centerpieces that consisted of a rainbow sort of different flowers; it's an LGBTQ+ organization, what'd you expect?

All the servers were dressed in all black along with a pin that held our logo along with the glasses that held the same thing. We went full out on this entire thing and I was genuinely proud with how everything looked right now. The band was setting up on stage since they would be playing the entire night until we get to the auction portion of the night. Julian and I made sure to get a band that was chilled out and positive so they wouldn't disturb the peace in the room whatsoever. On either side of the stage were a sign that held pictures of Julian and I and explained how we're involved in the non-profit. Julian decided to add that, even though I didn't like having a huge picture of me in front of the room.

"How're you feeling?" Julian asks me, coming up to me to place his hand on my shoulder. He looks out at the entire room since he hadn't seen it since this morning when we arrived bright and early to start prepping for the day. He had been more focused on making sure all the delivery trucks weren't hurting the property outside and making sure everything looked exactly how we ordered it. I just focused on helping everyone set up inside to my liking.

"Nervous," I whisper to him, leaning slightly into his body.

He leans down to place a soft kiss to my temple before brushing my hair out of my face. "It looks amazing, baby, and the kids are super excited. I just talked to Bradlee and they'll be on their way shortly."

"Okay, good," I say, biting my lip as I watch Nina talking to the group of servers on how the night will go. She had been super helpful throughout all of this and even arrived the same time we did so she could help us. Jessica and Georgie and some other volunteers had gotten here a few hours ago and had been working ever since then. I was super grateful for everyone dropping everything to help us with our fundraiser.

"Well, let's go get changed and take a breather. Guests should start arriving in about an hour," Julian tells me in a soft voice. I check my watch to see that time had flown by and it was starting to get closer to the time that the rich, snobby people would start showing up. I link arms with my fiance before moving towards the back room that the property owner had designated for us to keep our personal items in.

When we get into the little room, we quickly change into our suits. I love the green one that the kids had picked out for me since it really did make me seem much more professional than I was. It was paired with a dark red and white striped tie that was barely shown due to the vest that went underneath my jacket. Julian had decided to wear his dark blue suit with a white and blue polka dot tie. We looked very fancy in our attire and I was starting to actually get excited at what the night would bring.

"You look very handsome," Julian whispers to me as he dips his fingers in the hair gel before starting to fix my hair for me. He takes his time with it, probably giving me a few moments to just breathe since this night could turn stressful within a second.

"You don't look too bad yourself," I tell him, making him chuckle slightly. Once he was done fixing my hair for me, he quickly does his before digging through his bag for something. When he pulls out the bag of pins, he hands me one so we could put them on the pockets of our suits. When we were done with that, he stuck the bag into his pocket before coming over to me. He places his hands on my cheeks, forcing me to look up into his eyes.
