The children's ward wasn't all too pleasant for a recovering Jimin but as he was only seventeen it had to be dealt with. Jungkook was practically a patient there himself with all the time he spent glued to Jimin's side and although he didn't talk much, Jimin couldn't say he didn't like the company.
"I'm sorry."
That caught Jimin off-guard.
"Kookie, you didn't-"
"No, Jimin, I- what... What did you call me?"
Jimin felt his cheeks flare red but Jungkook was actively avoiding looking in Jimin's direction, he'd probably not even notice.
"Nothing, sorry, Jungkook-ah."
Jungkook sighed and turned to face Jimin. They didn't maintain eye contact for more than a few seconds because Jungkook moved to rest his head on Jimin's shoulder. His breathing wasn't even against the exposed skin of Jimin's neck. The shaking and sniffling that followed triggered the blond's hand to stroke Jungkook's hair.
"You could've died,"
Jungkook whispered aloud but it seemed to be more to himself,
"Jungkook, it's oka-"
"It's not! What would I have done if you'd've died?"
Jungkook was growing hysteric but it was only enough to make Jimin hesitate for a second before he said,
"The same as before."
