When we finished laughing it went quiet, it wasn't an awkward silence, no, it was an unusually comfortable silence. He cleared his throat then, breaking the silence, 'You looked pretty upset when you came running out then.' I couldn't decide weather it was a question or a statement, so I kept quiet.

When he realised I wasn't planning on answering I heard him turn on the bench next to me but I was suddenly self-conscious and kept my eyes forward. He sighed 'Hey, I know you don't know me and I don't know you but I just had an argument with my brother and I really don't wanna go back in there, if you know what I mean?' I turned to him finally and he had one of his eye-brows raised. 'I'm gonna be here for a while if you want to talk, that's all I'm saying.' He continued with a wink.

My words were stuck in my throat as I watched his beautiful green eyes look me over once or twice. GET back to REALITY! my brain screamed at me, I still hadn't answered and was still struggling to find words.

I met his eyes for just a second and then turned away, ' I have nothing to talk about, nothing happened in my house,' I sighed 'What was your argument about?' I asked switching characters.

He chuckled loudly, but I was watching his face and it was showing pained expressions not happy ones. He turned away and said 'Something stupid, my brothers err.. he's..let's just say he's trouble.'

'Oh, sorry.' I looked down the street towards my house, that's when I saw my Dad charging out of the front door.

My heart started to race and my mind went crazy, what do I do now? Run for my life? Stick up to him in front of Joe? I could feel my body temperature starting to rise but I couldn't decide weather it was from anger or embarrassment.

I could hear someone calling my name in both ears, coming from different directions, one soft and one at the top of their voice, I could tell which one was coming from who.

'Hayley? Are you alright?' Joe asked over and over.

Only a few more moments and my Dads shouting wouldn't be down the street anymore, it would be right next to me shouting in my face if I didn't act fast.

I snapped my head back to Joe with a worried expression on my face, ' I don't know' was my answer before I jumped off the bench hurrying to escape.

I didn't run because I knew my Dad wouldn't catch up, I just walked quickly away from Joe leaving him sitting there still questioning me.

{It's short sorry but Thanks for readddinnnggg :)}
