Joe's body went stiff beside me but I tried to play it cool and laughed, not causing an argument between anybody.

'Really?' I asked Liam in a croaky teasing voice whilst smiling.

'Really.' Was all he replied in a cold tone as if he hated me.

'It's OK I'm good with staying at my house.' I told Joe.

Joe sighed and said 'We'll talk about it later.'

Liam sat himself on the breaking one armed armchair and turned the TV on. 'Aren't you two kiddies going out then?' He retorted obviously beginning to get annoyed at our presence.

'Yes! We are.' I pulled Joe up from the sofa slipped on my shoes before dragging him into the now overcast day.

Joe was still awkward showing a pained expression as we walked down his drive which had been painted, odd was all that came to mind.

'I want to get to know you better.' He said then 'Show me your favorite place.'

The park behind our neighbourhood was my favorite place, but I couldn't show him that. That was my only private spot where I knew no one would ever find me or follow me. We lived in one of the more rural parts of town so there weren't many shops or diners unless we walked all the was into the inner town of Moss Hill, that was too far.

'Start with something different? I have never and probably won't ever show anyone my favorite place. It's too private sorry.' I told Joe straight.

He looked into my eyes and decided not to push it any further. 'Fine, I will show you mine.' He smirked at me and I could feel the heat rise in my cheeks. He could probably see that I was blushing which was so embarrassing so I turned away.

I don't know why his smirk made me blush, maybe it was the genuineness in his green eyes. Actually it was probably just because he was so perfect for me but I had to deny it because, 1 I am just the nerd of the class and 2 because I don't believe in love, not after seeing my Dad suffer for years on end over my mother who couldn't care less about me or my Dad.

Joe began to walk and I followed him all the way to the end of the row of poverty stricken houses and right into a field full of sheep. We both ran through the sheep field with them chasing us, both of us laughing when the other stepped in sheep poo or fell over on the hilly earth.

We walked side by side for about two more miles through forests, fields and even a small village which I had never seen before. I was starting to get tired when we crossed a bridge over a small stream which was beautiful blooming with all coloured flowers when he said 'Here.' with a proud smile.

The slow flowing stream looked different from the other side of the bridge it was in the woods in an unknown place to me. The trees were close together, like soldiers standing in an army, the flowers swayed in the breeze like dancing fairies with vibrant dresses on. It was truly beautiful.

I would never have imagined the bad boy, Joe who listened to Indie music and smoked to have such a wonderful place as his favorite one. Even I had a rusty, old, abandoned playground as mine,I felt so boring. So oblivious to the world and it's secret gems like this.

I felt so honoured that Joe would show me a place like this, maybe he was still looking for my forgiveness. I had already forgiven him and maybe I should show it more but I'm not very good with emotions.

I closed my eyes and sucked in the fresh air which smelt so good and pure unlike home which had a rotting, car fuel polluted smell hanging in the air. I suddenly hated where we both lived. The vandalism and uniform houses lining the streets which were all made of wood and falling apart like no one lived there. I could easily run away and live here on my own, hunting for my dinner, lighting fire and sustaining life a paradise world of my own.
