Nicole's boyfriend, who she has dated for 2-years, has died.
Nicole's POV:
I haven't been to school for a week and a half, but I finally had to go today. While I was walking through the big high school doors, I spotted everyone staring at me off the corner of their eyes. I tried to ignore everyone and everything, but for some odd reason I would always hear Dylan's name pop-up.
I came to class and we were learning about this girl named Candy who's parents had died and had a tough life because she had to live with her grandma, who was also suffering. Great! Just great! Reminding me of Dylan even more! It's weird that it has to happen the week I come back! Do they want to see me cry?!?!
It was lunch time. Obviously I had no friends because the only one I hung out with was Dylan and most of the girls were jealous because Dylan was my boyfriend. Anyways I sat down by myself. I was eating my food when all of a sudden a guy interrupted me and asked, "Can I sit here?"
I was nervous. He was pretty cute.
"Sure!"
"What's your name?"
"Nicole. What about you?"
"Tanner." He smiled.
I smiled also and giggled.
"So, how was your day?" Tanner said.
I replied, "Boring and frustrating! What about yours?"
Tanner: "Its fine! Why is yours boring and frustrating?"
Oh crap! Dylan! What is he thinking about me flirting with another guy?! Oh well!
Nicole: "Well, 2 weeks, my boyfriend Dylan has just died... And I
Tanner: "OMG! I'm so sorry! Let's changed the subject! So what's your favorite subject in school?"
Nicole: "Oh it's fine! It's just annoying when people say his name right in front of me. It's like they are trying to make me cry in front of them, but that won't happen because I'm pretty brave. Haha, but anyways, I really like math! What about you?"
Tanner: "Oh that sucks and same!"
Nicole: "Oh that's cool!"
Tanner: "Yea!"
We talked for a while and I got to find out a lot about ourselves, which we have a lot in common!
The bell rung*
Tanner: "Hey! Can I have your number?"
Nicole: "Sure! 000-000-9999"
Tanner: "Thanks! I'll talk to you later gorgeous!"
Nicole: "See yea!"
