HARRY POTTER - THE PAST REWRITTEN

Chapter 1

When he woke up, the only thing he could feel was the urge to cry. Fighting this urge, he tried to concentrate on the real world.

Then he heard a lady say "Isn't he so cute James". Harry looked up and realized that this woman was his mother. She looked just as he had seen in his album. He tried to say Mum but only a babbling sound came out and then he felt tears falling down his small cheeks. But Harry tried to shake himself out of this and checked if he still had his powers and could use his wandless and wordless magic. He tried to summon the calendar. At first nothing happened and he instantly lost all hope of saving his parents. Then a calendar started floating in the air and began coming towards him. Harry's happiness had no bounds.

James replied to Lily "Yes dear, he is really cute and has inherited the Potter genes and your beautiful eyes. It's a perfect combination." Then he saw the calendar. "Lily, did you summon this calendar?"

"Which calen-" Then she also saw the calendar. "No, I didn't," she said bewildered.

The calendar came in Harry's hand and he started observing it. He saw it was 31st August 1980. He thought, 'I am only a month old. I can hunt Voldemort's horcruxes down and send one killing curse towards him then I can live happily WITH MY PARENTS ALIVE.'

His mum interrupted his thoughts and asked him-"How did you summon the calendar? It was not accidental magic as you were fully aware what you were doing. It was wandless and wordless magic and even we are not mastered in it."

In a panic, Harry changed into his main animagus form- a phoenix and then when he reached the ground changed into a dog and then a small rat to hide.

"Now when did you learn to become an animagus. I don't think it is easy for adults with matured cores and it is impossible for a newborn baby with an overly immature core to become one? You are doing things like you have experience. Seriously, how did-"

This got Harry lost in his thoughts, 'Okay, so I should really try to stop being reckless. And as Mum said I have an immature core and at this moment I would be almost equal to Dumbledore in power, this means when my core is matured I will become double as powerful as Dumbledore! If I can somehow tell my parents to send expelliarmus and then the killing curse towards Voldemort before he starts attacking, everything will be a ton lot easier. Voldemort did not even learn wandless magic until 1984 when he was resurrected.'

He continued to listen to his Mum rambling.

"-Oh my god! My son is a prodigy. As you certainly cannot speak, can you write?"

Lily gave Harry a parchment and a quill. Harry could write (maybe not that neat, but it was still enough to send the message) but that was not what surprised his mother the most. Instead it was the words he had written.

We have to hunt Voldemort's horcruxes as fast as possible and then when he attacks on 31st October 1981 we will have to kill him.

"What is a horcrux, James?" Lily asked.

James, who had been quiet all along, finally spoke up. "I don't know how Harry knew of this as I never mentioned this word. Horcrux is an object which contains part of a soul of a person. This ritual breaks a person's soul into 2 parts. Only purebloods know about this. And what does Harry mean by 'Horcuxes' as in plural. He has more than one Horcux?! If we don't hunt all of them he will never die but instead wander around like a soul. I still can't understand how Harry could possibly know about this. But I guess we should think about this later and instead gather all the information we have.

Harry do you know anything more about Voldemort's horcruxes?"

Harry thought for a moment about which horcruxes Voldemort had made before 1980 then wrote in a sloppy handwriting.

Voldemort has 5 horcruxes-

1. Tom Riddle(Voldemort)'s Diary – in possession of Lucius Malfoy

2. Marvolo Gaunt's ring – Gaunt shack (presently in the possession of Dumbledore)

3. Hufflepuff's cup – Lestrange family vault

4. Ravenclaw's diadem – Room of Requirement

5. Slytherin's locket – Crystal cave

These can be destroyed by either basilisk fang or fiendfyre.

"How did Harry know Voldemort's original name?" Lily asked.

"I don't know, Lils. He seems to know everything. He even knows about the Room of Requirement!" James said.

Lily glared at him. "I think we should destroy these as fast as possible. James call the aurors and ask them to search the Malfoy's home for a diary of T. M. Riddle. Tell them to search as carefully as they can because they can warrant a search only once. Call Sirius and you can tell him about our situation. Ask him to go through the Lestrange vault. He will be allowed due to being Bellatrix's cousin. James, you go to the Room of Requirement and find the diadem. If Dumbledore asks why you came then tell him about it so that he gives us the ring. Take Harry with you as I will be going to the crystal cave."

James did as told as he didn't want to be on the other end of Lily's temper. He conjured 2 boxes and said, "Lily take 1 box and keep the horcrux in it otherwise it will harm you." Lily nodded.

Both of them started the search and this was where Harry Potter turned the events as per his wish. James apparated to Hogsmeade and went to the Headmaster's office by a secret passage. Dumbledore was surprised to see him as he was in hiding.

"What are you doing here James?" Dumbledore asked. James told him about the horcruxes.

"Well James, I wasn't planning on telling this to anyone but I have the Gaunt's ring and when I wore it I felt like someone was trying to possess me. I think I should give it to you to destroy it." He handed James the ring that was kept on his table.

"Thank you Albus. Can I leave Harry with you?" James asked.

"Of course. It would be my pleasure." Albus said.

Harry started exploring the office but that was mostly not to make anyone more suspicious.

"Harry, please wait here for a while. I have to make an announcement." Albus said to the young baby.

Harry was not going to miss this golden opportunity. Just as Albus left, he ran (or crawled) to Myrtle's bathroom. One of the advantages that came with being a baby was that no one noticed him. When he reached he tried to speak Parseltongue and for the first time in all his years of living, he turned out to be lucky.

He slided down and found the snake . He spoke to it in Parseltongue –

"I have not come to harm anyone. Lord Voldemort is a madman who has made some horcruxes and I just want to destroy it. Will you help me lord of the snakes?"

"You are a baby and a speaker. I will lend you my fang but I want something in return."

"Okay... I will get some rabbits for you to eat."

Harry was careful to not look into its eyes the whole time. The basilisk let Harry take one of its fangs then Harry thanked him and disapparated. He was just in time as some seconds later Dumbledore returned to his office.

Unfortunately, Dumbledore saw the fang in his hand.

"What is this in your hand young man?" Dumbledore asked.

He babbled something. 'Another advantage of being a baby. I cannot speak. There was no way old Dumbles could have understood it.

Dumbledore had ignored harry but he had that twinkle in his eye again.
