HARRY POTTER - THE PAST REWRITTEN

Chapter 3

On 31st October 1981

Harry was very nervous. He didn't remember when Voldemort had come last time so he should be ready at all times.

Harry being Harry Potter, nothing went right. That old coot had to come at specifically that day to call his parents for a meeting at the Order even though he knew they were in hiding. He had said that it would be better for them to come to a place heavily guarded as if their house was not. When his parents denied he started making them feel guilty for doubting him and convinced them. He called Sirius to take care of Harry. That was the main reason for Harry being very nervous. He kept worrying whether he will be able to survive again. But if he will, he will be given the title of The Boy-Who-Lived again. Poor Harry was stuck.

Just then a cloaked figure came into the room. Sirius was in Harry's nursery setting all his toys and Harry had to be just in front of the door. So, just as Voldemort barged in, Harry tried to make as much as noise as he could to call Sirius but it was too late. By the time Sirius heard him Voldemort had already said the killing curse. Everything happened so fast that a second later only Voldemort's body lay sprawled across the floor.

Harry was shocked to say the least. He didn't expect to survive the killing curse once again. He definitely did not expect to see Voldemort's body lifeless as some days ago he had remembered that later on he had also become a horcrux due to rebounding of the curse. He could not do anything to stop it. But Voldy Moldy's lifeless body showed that there was no horcux left. Dumbledore's theory was wrong then.

Harry was interrupted by Sirius who had finally come down the stairs.

"HARRY! You are fine! You would be the first one to survive the killing curse. Let us go and see where James and Lily are and tell them what happened. They have gone to Grimmauld Place."

While going to the fire, Harry saw a beetle that was watching the whole scene .

'Oh no! That beetle looks exactly like Rita Skeeter. I will have to be back to being the Boy-Who-Lived.' Harry thought.

When they reached the floo, Sirius shouted, "12 Grimmauld Place!"

The scene that they saw was not the sight Harry wanted to see at all.

They saw Dumbledore and Molly Weasley pointing their wands towards James and Lily who due to their shock were paralysed. Harry was extremely furious. Sirius threw hexes at them while Harry body-binded both Dumbledore and Molly wandlessly and wordlessly.

"Weird... I did not throw a body-binding curse." Sirius said and then directed his attention towards James and Lily. "Why were you being attacked by Albus and Molly?"

Lily answered in anger, "I don't know why but they wanted to kill us and make it seem like a Death Eater attack. Molly was also talking something about Ronald and Ginevra getting some money when Harry dies. But one thing is sure, we can never trust Albus or Molly. I am not sure if the other Weasley's were involved. By the way, shouldn't you have been at home?"

Sirius replied, "I can't believe Albus or Molly would do something like this. But good news Voldemort died!"

"Padfoot! You killed the most powerful Dark Lord of all time. I knew you could do it. How-" James was cut off by Sirius.

"No mate. I did not kill him. Your son did it. He-"

"WHAT!" The elder Potters said in unison.

"Let me explain. I was setting up Harry's nursery when Voldemort came in. I did not hear him come. Harry was crying. When I heard him it was too late. By the time I came to save Harry, Voldemort had fired the killing curse." The Potters gasped at this and Lily picked Harry up to check if he was okay and pointed out the scar that she found on Harry's forehead to James. Sirius continued explaining, "This scar was where the killing curse had hit him but somehow Harry survived the curse and it rebounded on Voldemort and he died."

"My son is the first person to survive the killing curse! But how did Voldemort find our house. The only way he could have found out was if Peter told him willingly. But that cannot be. He's our friend." Lily said.

"It is possible." Remus said coming from the floo. "I have been trying to find you everywhere to talk about this. Have you noticed that Peter has been acting weird? He wanted to be your secret keeper and when he was made he immediately made an excuse that he had to go as his mother was sick. And now this? It all adds up to Peter being a Death Eater. I have already asked the aurors to question him under Veritaserum and if he is a Death Eater then he will go to Azkaban. What has been happening around lately?"

"Yeah. You are correct Remus. Good thinking. And a lot has happened. Dumbledore and Molly tried to kill me and James, we can't trust them. Harry just defeated Voldemort by surviving the killing curse."

"WHAT!"

"Moony, what part was that for?" James asked.

Remus chuckled, "For both parts. But why would Dumbledore want to kill you?"

"I don't know. What I know is that we can never trust them. It will also be hard to tell this to everyone. No one will believe it as Dumbledore is Chief Warlock, defeater of Grindelwald, etc. We will have to think about that when Harry has to go to Hogwarts. We will never talk about this now but just remember do not trust Dumbledore or Molly." Lily said.

'I cannot believe that Mrs. Weasley would do such a thing but I have seen it with my own eyes. I guess everyone was manipulating me.' Harry thought.

"Not even to ask Harry how he knew about the horcruxes?" James pouted.

"NO!" Lily scolded him.

Everyone flooed back to Potter Manor. By the time they left, Dumbledore and Molly were able to break through the curse. They flooed back and pretended as if nothing happened.
