Oak-kit opened her eyes, awaking from her fake sleep. Adrenaline ran through her veins as she quietly snuck out of the nursery. The camp had a quiet air to it as the moon shone brightly above. The kit smirked and padded further into the camp. Luckily for her, tonight was gathering and most of the clan had left already. Darkpelt, the coolest cat in the clan might Oak-kit add, was left in the medicne cat den to recover from the rouge attack.
"Darkpelt?" She whispered loudly as she prodded the dark warrior's side, "Darkpelt!" The warrior let out a quiet groan and lifted her head, looking at the tiny brown kit, "Now what are you doing of the nursery this time?" "I wanted to see you!" The black cat laughed and shifted so she was facing the kit, "Speaking of which, aren't you and Ravenkit becoming apprentices tomorrow?" "We are!" The kit puffed out her chest in pride. Darkpelt let out a chuckled, "I'm sure you'll get a great mentor." "I want you to be my mentor!" The kit whined, nudging the warrior again. "Hey, that's not my choice, its whoever Rosestar believes is best for you." The warrior laughed and looked at the moon that was starting to set.
"I'd return to your den for now little kit, the gathering should be ending. Oak-kit sighed and nodded, gathering herself, "Bye Darkpelt!" She whispered loudly before padding back to the nursery to see her sister sitting up and looking at her, "Where did you run off to, I got worried!" She whispered, flicking a black ear. "Sorry, I was talking to Darkpelt." Oak-kit smirked and padded over to her sleeping mother's side before curling up. "You need to be more careful." The black colored kit chastised. "Yeah yeah." The kit yawned before letting her conciousness slip away.

Darkeplt stood as the gathering group returned. "How did it go?" She asked, approaching Rosestar and Birchtail. "As it always has." Rosestar smiled, flicking a tail. "Though, Shadowclan accused Riverclan of hunting in their territory." Birchtail said with an anxious flick of his tail. "Coldstar didn't deny it either. Riverclan was acting rather odd." The leader let out a sigh her ear flicking in worry.
"I hope Moss-star is able to handle them." The deputy sighed. "How is your sister?" Rosestar asked, the mention of the white rouge caused Darkpelt to look towards the medicne cat den. Nightpaw laid on a moss bed, her white pelt glowing in the quickly retreating moon light. "She's fine." The dark warrior explained with a sigh.
"I was very shocked when you said that rouge was your sister but you do have some similarities." Rosestar laughed mostly to her self, "I trust you to look over her and try to keep her from stealing anymore kits." Darkpelt nodded. "Speaking of kits, Ravenkit and Oak-kit are becoming apprentices tomorrow." Birchtail said, as if just remembering. "I'm sure Oak-kit is very excited about that." The leader chuckled fondly in the memory of the brown kit.
"Have you thought of mentors?" Darkpelt asked, flicking her tail in curiosity. "Yes, I have." Rosestar meowed and then said nothing else, showing that she obviously wasn't going to tell the warrior who she has picked. "Ugh, your just as stubborn as you were before you became leader." The warrior sighed dramatically, "Anyway, I think that my wounds are healed and I'm gonna head to the warriors den."
"Goodnight Darkpelt." Both the leader and deputy called as the dark pelted she-cat padded away. "Do you think Oak-kit can really handle being mentored by her?" Birchtail asked, his ear flicking with light concern. "I'm sure if anyone can train Oak-kit, it's Darkpelt." "Then what of Ravenkit?" The leader smirked at the question before padding away with no awnswer. The deputy flattened his ears in annoyance and let out a sigh.

The morning sun rises over the camp, as Oak-kit lets out a yawn as the sunlight drafting into the nursery stirs her from her sleep. She stretches her paws out infront of her before standing and shaking out her pelt. Her mother yawns from behind her, opening her green eyes, "Goodmorning Oak-kit." She says drowsily, sitting up and accidentally flopping Raven-kit onto the ground. "Today's the day!" Oak-kit says, turning and smiling to her mother with excitement. Dawnstripe sighs dramatically and smiles back down at her kit, "You all grow up too fast." The queen pouts.
