Chapter 9

"What!" I yelled dropping my glass of water.

"The vampire wants you two to have a kid. To ensure she won't leave and spread our secret," Mikoto said.

"But i don't want to have a kid now," I said looking down.

"Don't worry Sakura dear we'll all help you," she said rubbing my back.

"No! Screw the council! I don't want a kid! That doesn't mean I'm going to run off and tell the world vampires are real. It risks all of you lives!" I yelled standing up.

"Sakura calm down," Mikoto said grabbing my hand.

"No!"

"Try one time. If it doesn't happen we'll keep it under wraps until you want to have a kid," she said.

I eyes Sasuke. He put his hands in the air.

"I did everything you told me this week. I don't think you'll get pregnant."

I looked back at Mikoto. Her eyes were somewhat filled with fear and the rest was pity.

I understood why. I'm a human living among vampires. Now married to one. And their government want to force us to have a child. But I hated having people pity me. I've taken it for a long time. I looked sternly at everyone.

"No." I walked out of the house and went to the car. I closed and locked the door and put my head in between my knees.

I didn't cry. I felt disappointed in myself for disappointing Mikoto and the rest of the family. One more year and I'll graduate early and go to college then we can have a child. Just not now.

I pulled my phone out and put it on silent. I got out of the car and put my hood over my head. It was the only hoodie Sasuke didn't know I had.

I walked down to the park and sat on the edge of the water. A young cat walked up to me. His leg looked like it had a limp. I picked it up and held it steadily in my arms.

"Let's get you checked by a doctor," I said walking to the closest vet I could find.

I walked in and a middle aged woman perked up.

"Hello how can I help you?"

"Hello I have a stray cat that is limping," I said walking up to the counter.

"Okay take him in back," she said.

When I went to the back there was a with red hair. He was a vampire. There were rings of red around his pupils.

"Hello I see you've brought a little cat," he said.

I placed the cat on the table and stepped back a small bit. He quickly glanced up then back at the cat.

"She has a broken radius. And a puncture wound on her back right leg. I think she might need surgery but let's get x-rays now."

"Okay can I wait out front?" I asked. "It's musky in here and I'm allergic to cats."

He gave a slight nod and took the cat into the x-Ray room. I walked out to the front and opened my phone.

I had 10 missed calls from Mikoto and even more from Sasuke. I opened my messages and saw some my friends sent while I was in Bora Bora.

Temari and Shikamaru are planning a beach day for this weekend. I opened the group chat. Everyone said they were going. They were still talking about it.
