"Wonderful news, my dear siblings. Diego brought his therapist to family time. How fun!"

"Again, not his therapist."

It always starts the same

It always starts the same. Forty three babies all born spontaneously at the same time to mothers who were certainly not expecting.

Among the thirty six, was a girl named Isha from Greenwich, Connecticut.

Born to an extremely confused upper middle class white woman, Isha bounced between foster families for ten years. She was seven when she saw swirl of color around one of her foster fathers' head, red and bright as he raised his hand to her the first time. Before her eleventh birthday, two small business owners - Caroline and Paula Murray - adopted her.

Diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and clinical depression as a possible result of PTSD, Isha graduated from college with a BS in Psychology and decided to immediately start grad school. Money was tight with her parents and she began working part time in retail to try and break even, but it was too much to handle mentally and physically.

She dropped out one semester in and started working full time as a Gimbel Brothers Department Store backroom associate and volunteering as an unpaid assistant to a nonprofit shelter. A friend from college, Eudora Patch, sometimes attended the weekly group meetings in a show of support.

Five years and several hundred hours of experience later, Isha made supervisor at her day job and had a shabby office to see patients on evenings and weekends.

One freezing day, two hours before Isha's overnight inventory shift and two years prior to the apocalypse, a Police Academy drop out showed up in place of Eudora.

Two years later? There are assassins shooting up the sale floor and the end of the world is here.

As if her life wasn't enough of a struggle to keep her sanity in check.
