"Hey, you're home early" I said, greeting my mom in the kitchen.

"Yeah I got off a little early so I could start supper. I want to make sure everything is perfect." She replied. I should have known. She's a bit of a perfectionist, but not the annoying kind.

"How come Josh brought you home in your own vehicle?" She asked. I forgot she could see me from the kitchen window.

"Um. I just had a bad day so he offered to drive me" I replied.

"Did it involve Adam?" She asked, her face becoming soft.

"Yeah but it wasn't a big deal." I shrugged. I wasn't in the mood to talk about him right now. In fact, I'm overly excited for tonight now. It's funny how fast feelings change.

"I'm going upstairs to get ready for supper" I said turning around and heading for the stairs.

"Bella" Mom called. I turned around and gave her a reassuring look.

"I'm fine mom, really" I responded and she nodded her head. I continued running up the stairs.

Once I got to my room I shut the door behind me and thought about what I should do tonight. Should I dress up? Or act casual like this isn't a big deal.

I sat on my bed and decided to text Ellie.

Me: Hey E. Turns out I'm more excited for tonight than I thought. What should I wear?

Within thirty seconds she responded.

Ellie: I knew it! I heard everything about after school. Wear shorts with a crop top. Show off the bod😉

I didn't even respond. I sighed, hating how fast things get around. I tried considering Ellie's suggestion but I don't want to make him think I want him.

After a half hour of staring into my closet, I chose something simple, a black strapless top with jean shorts.

I took my braids out and let my hair fall into small waves. I didn't add any extra makeup. I wanted a simple look.

I sat on my window ledge, something I do often. I have a nice view from my window, so it's my excuse if anybody ever sees me.

My window was straight across from Josh's window. I only know this because I may have saw him getting changed before. I glanced over but his curtains were closed. Probably for the best.

I sighed, thinking about how fast things happened today. How could my feelings for Josh change so fast? And why does he suddenly care about me?

"Bella! Come down" My mother yelled, interrupting my thoughts.

I ran downstairs to see Josh, his little brother Connor and his parents standing in the doorway. My face immediately went red at the sight of Josh. I tried to cover it the best I could.
