"Good morning miss Harris, happy to finally see you today. I wasn't sure if you were going to show up." Mr. Dunlap says as I enter the room and all eyes are on me.
"Oh you know that I would never pass up this class for sleep Mr. Dunlap." I say as I sit down.
"So what was it today?" Natalia asks me.
"Well I had to let a fugitive into my house last night otherwise he would have been arrested and I didn't think that he would stay the night, but he did and then I had to figure out a way to hide him from my mom in the morning and get him to school."
"Ooooo good one. I like it." She says as she turns to the front to listen to the lesson.
I wish that I had been kidding about that though. I still haven't comprehended last night and I can't believe that actually happened. The more shocking thing though was Bennett was actually kind of a decent person. Which I never knew could happen, who would have thought that underneath all that douchiness and cologne there is actually someone who's company I can actually stand. Of course though this won't last long, I know that the jerk will be back soon enough.
The block ended and I didn't retain anything he said. When do I ever though?
My second block went by pretty fast cause I'm too distracted to do anything. It's not just because of Bennett though. It's mostly because he kept me up so late. At least that's what I keep saying to myself. It's not even him distracting me, it's his actions I guess.
It's finally lunch and I have been surprisingly dreading it for the first time ever. I know that Abby is going to heckle me all lunch and I am honestly not in the mood for it.
At that moment I see Bennett from across the hall. I look at him and as he looks up and sees me he immediately looks away.
Of course, he's back I knew he would, but I wasn't expecting it so soon. How did I ever think that he was tolerable. Even just seeing the way that he interacts with his friends is annoying. He thinks that he's the shit cause everyone thinks he's the greatest. How they do? I have no idea.
"Lola!" I hear Abby's voice shake me out of my thoughts. I turn around and there she is coming to me, pretty fast might I add, looking like a mom on a mission.
"You have some serious explaining to do." Abby says once she gets to me.
Jess comes just as abby is talking and Jess looks pretty confused.
"What are you guys talking about?" Jess asks.
"Why don't you ask Lola?" Abby says like she's accusing me of doing a crime.
I just shrug my shoulders cause I mean there really is nothing to explain, and I told Bennett that I wouldn't tell anyone. Why am I keeping his promise you might ask. Well I guess it's cause I like to keep my promises even if this promise involves satan.
"Well if you're not going to say anything then I guess I have to." Abby says as she rolls her eyes. "So I was walking to Lola's car like I do every morning and imagine my surprise when I see no other than Bennett Smith sitting in the front seat!"
"I already told you what happened why are you still going on about this?" I say already tired from this conversation or I should say interrogation.
"Oh yeah, that bullshit excuse of his cousin living in the neighbourhood and him needing a ride. I don't buy that at all. You would never just willingly give him a ride, you despise him."
"He offered to buy me lunch for a month alright. I'm not gonna pass up free food. I know I hate him, but my love for food is stronger than my hate for him. Also I know I hate him, but I'm not that terrible of a person to just leave him to fend for himself."
