Firework Eyes

Your words are dripping down the corners of my eyes

I'm getting tired of watching these blurry lines

They fill my space with cold goodbyes

If it weren't for this light show, I'd wish I were blind

Her smile is warm enough

But your colors are keeping me near

And though my reason is somewhat daft

It's the only thing I feel is sincere

The golden leaves were washed from the ground

Leaving it dull as it's lost its flavor

We've lost our beat, so I'll just keep knocking

Hoping you'd bring back the gold and the blue

I'll keep painting these walls with our song

Even if now I feel like I'm singing alone

Hoping that from where you are, your'e singing along

Till the words sink in and I'd feel at home

Home, like the time when we felt we could fly

And the nights were like new beginnings

And everyday, I sang my song

To see your firework eyes when the dark swallows the sky
