*chapter 2* when time stops

*Chapter 2* Emma's POV

"Thank you so much for letting me borrow your dress!" I said to my older sister, Veronica. I eyed the white dress in the long mirror attached to the closet. I loved how casual it looked. It was strapless so I wore my cropped denim jacket over it. The sleeves only went down to my elbow and the jacket part went down a little bit below my chest. The dress seemed to fit me perfectly and went down a couple inches above my knees.

"Do you think mom will think it's too short?"

Veronica laughed before saying "Probably," My mom would probably like it better if it went a couple inches over my knees, not above. "but your excuse can be your really long legs." I laughed as I shook my head. Another reason why I hate being tall.

 Hmm... Is this too dressy anyway? It does look very casual, but what about for a concert? I've never been to one before so I'm not sure really how to dress. "Turn around. I wanna see how you look." Veronica said. I took my eyes off of the dress in the mirror and turned to look at my sister. We get along so well, but that could be because of the age difference. I'm 17 and she's 24. She was the lucky one and only grew to be about 5' 6." 3 inches makes a huge difference. "Awww, you look so pretty! My little sister's growing up." I laughed and shook my head again.

Do you ever have those moments when someone says "You look pretty" and then you start to wonder "Why"? That happens to me all the time. If someone comes up to me and tells me I look pretty, then I start to wonder if I look different or something. Do I look different right now? I honestly didn't pay attention to what I looked like, all my attention was towards the dress.

I turned back around and took a look at myself. Veronica curled my hair so beautifully, she was always good at doing hair. Part of my hair was pinned back and given a small bump. My eyelashes looked a lot longer than usual. What mascara did she use?

 To be honest I really didn't look like myself. Which didn't make sense because nothing was done to make me look different? My makeup was the same as usual. Lip gloss and a little bit of mascara. The only difference was the eye shadow my sister put on my eyes. A very light brown and a neutral brown for a more natural look. Maybe it was the hair, I hardly ever curl it and then again I never know how to style it. I've never seen it this shiny before either. What did she put in my hair? "Emma, you look gorgeous!" my sister sang. "Thanks." I said as I smiled shyly. I sort of just shrugged it off. I'm not really sure what gorgeous is but I know it's not me.

 My little sister Maya walks into the room and gives me a pouty face. "I'm so jealous! I wish I could go see One Direction!"

"You would be going if you didn't try to set Melissa on fire." I laughed. Melissa is my other little sister. She decided to go to a friend's house to try and not be reminded that she couldn't go to the concert. She tried getting her back which also resulted in her getting grounded.

"She said I could! I didn't know she was being sarcastic!"

"Do we need to have the sister talk again?" Veronica teased.

"Noo," Maya said with a big smile on her face. "Emma, will you say hi to Niall for me? And tell him I love him okay?"

"Niall? I thought you liked Louis." I said.

"I do, but... It's... It's just... Ugh! I can't decide!"

"Say hi to Zayn for me." Veronica said as she wiggled her eyebrows, "I know he's too young for me and I'm already married but he's still really cute."

I laughed and said "Will do."

Unfortunately I probably won't even get the chance.

Melissa was so sure that she would go to the concert and catch Harry's eye. She said it would be love at first sight and that he'd fall head over heels in love with her. I think she might be Harry's biggest fan. You have no idea how in love with him she is. She knows everything about him! It's kinda scary. "Emma you look like you're gonna go on a romantic date with one of them or something." Maya said.
