Oof. Ooooooooof. They're probably in like, 3rd grade or something here but I didn't plan an exact age or grade so they're just young enough to be innocent. Have fun
THIRD REICH'S POV
I got excited when the recess bell rang. Boring school work would be over for a few minutes and I could play with the other countries. I ran outside and saw my best friend UK in a hangout circle with USA, USSR, France, and a few others.
"UK! Do you wanna go play something with me?" I asked him, running up and tugging on his sleeve.
He looked down at my excited face without much emotion. "Sorry, Reich, I'm a bit busy right now." He told me, bringing his attention back to whatever story France was telling. "Pwease?" I whined, but he still didn't pay any attention to me.
I walked around the courtyard, kicking a ball around. Whatever, he's too smart for me anyway.
Almost everyone had someone to play with. There was the big friend group, and then smaller groups scattered around. Finland and Estonia were cuddling on the bench. The only other countries that were alone that I could see were Italy and Japan.
I walked over to Italy, who was sitting in the grass picking flowers. His innocent eyes lit up when he saw someone approaching. I sat facing him.
"Hi, Italy. No one wants to play with me." I pouted.
"I'll play with you." Italy beamed. He looked really cute in the flowers, and I felt my heart flutter slightly. What is that? I like that feeling.
"These are called dandelions. I think they're very pretty." He looked on to them, admiring their beauty. He gently picked one and handed it to me.
"Italy! You're only supposed to do that for girls." I reminded him, studying the flower. It was very pretty up close.
"It doesn't matter, Reich. I wanted you to have one." He said with a small smile.
We enjoyed the breeze in silence for a few minutes. "...Why do they never hangout with me?" I asked, looking on to the popular kids, and especially UK.
"I don't know, Reich, but I don't like big crowds. I'd rather stay by myself or just with a few people. It's more peaceful." He explained.
I laid down, arms folded behind my head, and watched the clouds pass by.
"I have an idea!!" I sat up suddenly. "Why don't we start our own group, Italy!" He looked hesitant, the boy was shy. "I don't know if that's such a good idea..."
"Oh come on." I begged him. "Just let me try something, I'll be right back." Without waiting for an answer, I left to fiful my plan, heading to Japan, who was leaning against the wall.
"Hey, Japan. Are you busy?" She didn't look like she was, but I asked anyway to be polite. "You wanna join a club I started?"
She looked thoughtful and then shrugged. "Why not? I've nothing to do anyway."
"Cool! C'mere." I grabbed her hand and looked for someone else to ask, my eyes finding Poland.
"Join our club, Poland!" He flinched. "I don't want to join..." He mumbled, looking at us nervously. My eyes narrowed. "You're no fun, Polska. We'll just have to make you join if you don't agree." I made a fist with my hand and Japan smirked a bit evilly.
Unfortunately, a teacher gave me and Japan a warning glare so we had to leave Poland alone and go back to the grassy area.
"Italy, Italy! I got our first recruit!" I said proudly, lifting Japan's hand in the air. We sat down in a triangle.
"What's this club even called, Reich?" Japan asked me. I couldn't let her get bored, she had to stay. "Uhmm.."
"Let's call it... The Axis Powers!" I beamed. Italy's eyes lit up. "Ooh! I like it!" Japan looked impressed. "I like it too, that sounds really cool." I felt proud. "It's settled then!"
I looked over at the popular kids again. I sighed, they still looked better.
I left them to walk to UK again. I tugged on his arm. "UK, I started a club. You only have this one chance to join. And if you join you have to pay attention to me."
He shook his head. "You know you could join us, Reich," he motioned to the rest of the group, "if you just acted more mature." He spat.
"I would never betray The Axis Powers!" I yelled.
France snickered. "The Axis Powers? That sounds so lame."
The rest of the group joined in. "Just go back to your stupid club, Reich, and stop bothering us." Soviet Union shot at me.
"Maybe we'll just start our own club. We'll be called... The Allies now. And you're not allowed to join!" USA humored. They all laughed and tears pricked my eyes. "Whatever, you'll see one day The Axis Powers will be a million more times powerful than your stupid group!" I walked off.
I rested my hands on my head when I got back, sitting criss-cross applesauce in the grass. "What's wrong, Reich? What did they say?" Japan asked me. I shook my head at her. "They called me names..."
Italy lightened the mood. "They're just mean. But it doesn't matter what they think of us, and we'll always be nice to each other, right Japan?"
"Yeah. Me and Italy'll never call you names, Reich."
I smiled and wiped a tear from my face. "You guys are the best. Let's promise to always stay together."
"Okay."
"Of course."
I stood up, with Italy and Japan on either side of me. I grabbed both of their hands and brought them in the air. We declared in unison, "Glory to The Axis Powers!" before laughing and going back inside after the school bell.
