The next night is a party, and I break the promise I made to myself and let Sarah make me up again. I'm starting to like her, because once you get past her loudness, she is actually a very nice person.
"I'm so excited! This party is supposed to be LIT." She says, putting emphasis on the last word. Apparently, she is internet famous and I am very lucky to have her as a roommate, or so my few Instagram followers say. At least she's not a goth who wants nothing to do with me.
We FINALLY get there, and I immediately search for Jaxon. I find him easily, he is standing by the sink with a solo cup. I don't know if we're a couple or not, but friends with benefits is fine with me.
"Hey!" Jaxon says when he sees me. He puts his cup on the counter and picks me up and spins me around. He puts me down and kisses me. He leads me to the same room we were in before and things go exactly the same.
—The Next Day—
The first day of college classes. HOLY CRAP I am so tired. I knew I shouldn't have stayed with Jaxon last night, but I couldn't help myself. He is just too hot!"Welcome to English 1. I am your professor, Dr. Su." This guy is full-blooded Chinese. That explains his name.
Classes go on forever. And when I say forever, I mean forever. And they say high school goes by slow!
I found out that Jaxon is in, like, all my classes, because I immediately spotted him in each room. He stand out like a sore thumb against everyone else here. I say next to him every time, which earned me a few dirty looks from a few girls. I didn't care, Jaxon's hand on my thigh was enough to make me hardly hear my professors.
—That Night—
Another party. What is with this school? Party. Party. Party. Clean up. Party. You get the cycle. I remember telling my mom in high school and the day before I left, 'I will never go to parties. I will never drink. I will never do drugs. I won't lose my virginity until I get married.' I feel very bad for lying to my mom. And myself. Because while I told my mom those things, I also told myself them. And if it weren't for my internet famous roommate and Jaxon, I probably would never go to another party. But when I see Jaxon, all I can see is him. All my common-sense fades. Everything fades. I just can't control myself around him."Hey! You ready to go?" Jaxon says as he pops his head into my dorm. Surprisingly, Sarah is skipping out on tonight's party. Jaxon agreed to drive me.
"Yeah! Just let me grab my phone," I grab my phone and we head out. Tonight's party is being held somewhere different, considering the drive is half as long. Thank God.The night goes on like every other party night. Me and Jaxon drink a little, lock the door behind us, and live like there is no tomorrow. I could say I'm growing tired of it; why can't we just do this in the dorm? Oh yeah, Sarah. Wait, Sarah! Is she okay? She wasn't there when we left, she said she went to study. I had better call her.
In the 5 times I call her cell, she doesn't pick up. I'm worried.
"Jaxon, we have to go. NOW." I gather my things and throw on my shoes. A normal person wouldn't be worried about this, their roommate missing a party to go 'study'. But you see, Sarah doesn't just study. She is already, like, SURPRISINGLY smart. Jaxon doesn't ask questions, he puts on his Vans and we head out."What's wrong, baby?"
"Sarah said she went to study. I'm worried about her."
"Why? She can't just go study?" He look so confused.
"Sarah doesn't just study. She says she is, but the she goes off and does something stupid. She doesn't need to study, her brain already knows everything."He doesn't ask anything else, he turns his eyes to the road and keeps driving.
—30 minutes later—
We arrive at the library and Sarah is nowhere to be seen."We have to check the dorms." I say and immediately turn around, yanking Jaxon by the wrist and taking him with me.
We get to the dorms to find Sarah on the floor, fading in and out of consciousness."Call 911!" I yell to Jaxon while I check her pulse. She has bruises and scrapes everywhere. Her nose and mouth are bleeding. She has been beaten to a bloody pulp, and I will kill whoever did this to her.
