No matter what our circumstances,
We can find a reason to be thankful
~Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.°°°
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and immediately headed to the bathroom to get a shower. The amazing scent of bacon danced gently around my nose and I instantly knew my mom was already up and making breakfast.
I jogged to the kitchen after I got dressed into my uniform and to my dismay my “I eat everything ” sister was already shoving pieces of bacon into her never full stomach. As soon as I sat down on the table I realized that there was only one piece of bacon left.
Better than nothing I thought.
But yet again, as I reached for the last piece my “Oh so loving” sister just wasn't full after 9 pieces and she just had to have 10.I literally held back tears when I looked at the time and realized I only had 5 minutes till the bus arrived; so I couldn't make any breakfast. It took all of me not to strangle her to death.
I grabbed an apple and kissed my mom goodbye before I dashed out of the house so the bus wouldn't leave me. From the distance I could see a car speeding my way, and unexpectedly a large amount of water splashed on my beautiful uniform. I froze in shock ; my eyes tightly shut and my mouth slightly open. I slowly turned making my way back to the house.
My mom tried hairdrying my uniform while my sister dried me off with a fan while I used towels. I got dressed again still a bit wet but I would manage. When I walked out the house the bus was two houses away and I tried to run after it yelling at the top of my lungs for it to stop but as blessed as this day was the driver proceeded driving.
I got back into the house and asked my mom to drop me off.
She signed me into the school- since I was obviously late and I made my way to class after my mom wrote an apology letter to my teacher explaining why I was late. I walked into class and the teacher instantly glared at me and before she could say anything I gave her the letter and walked to my seat.
The period dragged and it felt like it lasted for ever. In break I met up with Tyla and I immediately felt better. I hugged her for so long because it felt like all my problems were solved when I was in her arms. I told her about my absolutely horrible, not so good- terrible day!
When break ended I headed to my fourth period trying to stay positive because I had another five periods to go before school ended for the day.
But to my dismay I got a detention during my last period - Geography, for not wearing a effing tie.
The day was finally over. When I got back home, I went to my room and as soon as I layed down I fell asleep.
My mom woke me up holding a colorful cupcake that looked quite tasty. My mouth watered instantly allowing a sweet giggle to escape from my lips. She gave me the cupcake and I gobbled it down in no time. She stood up and walked out the door.
“Thank you,” I whispered giving her a toothy smile.
