~The quality, not the longevity of one's life is important.

Martin Luther King Jr.
°°°

I walked into the church wearing a long black dress that Tyla and I bought together to wear at her sister's funeral.

I remember how sad she was, we were only 14 and she loved her sister dearly. They did everything together, her sister was the first to know when she got her period and she was the one who got her tampons because her mother was at work. Lorraine - her sister, was only 18 when she died, she was diagnosed with cancer when she was 17.

They were told that she wouldn't survive, so they were at the hospital every single day until she died, Tyla would even bunk school just to see her. The day she died Tyla said that she was sad and relieved at the same time because her death took her out of her pain. She only cried once, when they opened the casket.

As I walked in I saw Trevor and Leo sitting on the church benches, Leo gave me a sad smile, I smiled back hoping he wouldn't notice the tears running down my face. I took a seat in the front next to Tyla's mom and I held her hand, she gave me a small smile. Tyla's dad was sitting right beside her mom, they got divorced a few years before Lorraine died. He was never really part of their lives after the divorce.

The ceremony started and Pastor Abraham began with a few words before a few family members of Tyla said their short speeches.
After a few people spoke it was then my turn to speak, I had asked Tyla's mom to be in the program.

I walked up to the podium slowly trying to calm myself down. I took a deep breath before I began.

"I stand here not only as a friend but as a sister too. Tyla was the most immature person any of you would ever meet, she was practically a six year old trapped in a seventeen year olds body," I looked over at Tyla's mom who gave the first sincere smile after the the news in the hospital,
"Tyla knew how to live life, she always looked at the bright side of things. She loved Martin Luther King because she said she wanted to be just like him one day. Her favorite quote was by Martin Luther King and it say,
'Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend.'
Let's all lead by her example of friendship and kindness, "

I couldn't say anything else, so I walked off the podium to go and sit down. I had written a whole speech and I couldn't finish it, but I wasn't disappointed in myself- not even the slightest bit because I knew I had said more than enough.

Tyla's mom gave me a hug before she got up to say her speech.

"I love my daughter, and I know she's happy where she is because she's with her sister."
And that's all she said before taking her seat again and smiling at me. We sang a few songs before the ceremony was over. My mom was way too emotional to say anything.

I loved Tyla and I still do, if I could take things back I would. The best part is that she'll probably be happy seeing Lorraine again.
But as for me, I'll probably be depressed for a long while and remain Undecided!

Well this is the last chapter 🌼
I'm so sorry that it's short but I'll be publishing a new book 😊 it's called Golden.
And maybe I'll post the second book of undecided. 🤸‍♀️🦋
