Chapter Six

Chapter Six Nicole's Point of View

"Hi Nicole. I'm Parker. Im the thief of the team." Said Parker energetically. I smiled at her shyly and stepped closer to Sophie. Nate said something to Parker and then headed somewhere else where I could hear him talking to someone before reappearing again, this time with a man in a blue plaid shirt and jeans. He also had on an apron so I assumed that he had just come from the kitchen. "Parker can you go and get Hardison please?" Nate asked, looking at Parker before turning to face me. "Nicole this is Eliot. He is the retrieval specialist and the teams hitter." Nate introduced me to ths man standing at his side. He smiled and hdld out his hand to shake which I did and smiled back at him. We all sat down on the couch, I sat in between Sophie and Nate.

Parker came back with a tall dark skinned man and sat next to Eliot. The man stared at me and then held out his hand to shake. I shook it and then smiled at him.

"I'm Hardison." He introduced himself and then started talking to me. "So, Nikki. Is it alright if I call you Nikki?" At my nod he continued. "Nikki, what game is better, Need for Speed or Grand Theft Auto?" He asked me.

"I don't play video games. " I answered, watching as he looked shocked before composing himself. "I don't understand the point of them." I trailed off when I noticed everyone staring at me. "What?" I asked as I looked around me at their expressions.

"What do you mean you don't understand them?" Hardison said.

"I mean that I don't understand them." I spoke quietly.

"Well, Nikki, let me explain them to you." Hardison said, his voice filled with determination. "I am going to explain the whole point of them to you okay? " Even though it was a question, it sounded like I didn't really have a choice. I looked at Sophie and Nate and they nodded in encouragement.

"Come on." Hardison spoke before leaving and going to a different room, I stood up and followed him out and into what looked like a games room. There was a computer, a few laptops and a couple of games consoles. Hardison motioned for me to take a controller before picking up one for himself. I sat next to him and he told me about the game we were going to play and he explained it in detail what I had to do. "Okay. Do you understand what you have to do?" He asked me and I nodded yes. He pressed start and we started racing each other. By the end of the game, I won and I internally laughed at the look of shock on his face. I smiled and he demanded to have a rematch. I shrugged and laughed out loud when I beat him again.

"Hardison!" Parker shouted from the other room. "Stop keeping her for yourself!" He rolled his eyes before turning the game off. We both headed back to the room we were in before.

"Did you cheat?" Hardison asked me seriously. I shook my head no. "Then how did you win against me? Nobody's beaten me before. Like EVER!" He stated, putting emphasis on ever. I simply shrugged, by now we were in the main room again. I sat down next to Sophie and she smiled at me.

"I don't know. I guess I just have a natural talent at that game or maybe you explained it a little to well." I shrugged at him again. He narrowed his eyes at me playfully before turning to Eliot.

"Have you done food yet?" Hardison asked and Eliot glared at him before nodding.

"We were waiting for you and Nicole to finish playing whatever it is that you were playing." He answered before turning to face me. "I didn't know what food you liked so I cooked lasagne but I could cook you something else if you like." Eliot smiled kindly at me.

"Thank you. Lasagne is nice." I smiled back, in my head I was confused, why would he go through so much trouble to make me something I liked even though he had already cooked food." Nate stood up and held his hand out to help Sophie up before offering it to me. I took it and thanked him before following everyone towards where I assumed the kitchen was. We all sat down and I ate my food quickly and quietly. Eliot's lasagna was amazing and even though I ate quickly, I still savoured the taste of it. I watched as they all talked about the new client while they ate. Nate turned to face me.

"Have you ever grifted before?" He asked me and I answered no, looking down at my empty plate. I was worried that once they knew that I had never grifted before they wouldn't want me to join the team. "Okay, Sophie, you can teach her just the basics for now and whag she'll need for this job. Would you like to come with us on the next job?" Nate added as an after thought and I looked up at him and smiled at him and nodded, he smiled back and nodded to himself. After we finished talking about the con we were going to run on the mark, it was starting to get late. "Sophie can you take Nikki home?" Nate askwd, looking at Sophie. She nodded and stood up and waited for me to get up. I picked up mine and Sophie's plate before taking them to the sink.

"You don't have to do them Nikki. I'll do them later." Came Nate's voice and I nodded and followed Sophie out after saying goodbye to everyone.

Hey guys. So I know that I said in my last chapter that this would have more dialogue and a debate in it but I couldn't think of a way to write the debate and I would have done more dialogue but my tablet has decided to not charge so I couldn't write that much. It also decided to stop writing where it is meant to and start to write elsewhere in this chapter.

Okay so for my important notice. I will be deleting a few stories. I will post a list of what one's I will be deleting and why I am deleting them. It isn't forever though, it is just until I have the inspiration to write for them. Please read my other stories that aren't being deleted and especially my new story Mini Avengers.
