It was another dry and hot summer day, and Hannah was leading everyone to the airport place she mentioned the previous night. They were walking back the way they came to the lake from to avoid human contact, through the fields with no trees. Roscuroe hoped that this plan wouldn't end up in getting everyone killed before arriving in Edmonton. The sun heated Roscuroe's dark scales and clothing, it was becoming unbearable for him as he envied everyone who wasn't dark scaled. Lizens could not sweat and Roscuroe was a bit dehydrated, which made it worse for him. He continued to follow Hannah, despite feeling like he was going to die.
"Wait, weren't you going to get the others you said you knew?" Harley asked Hannah as he ran ahead of her.
"That is the first stop, I hope they can come with us." Hannah responded. They were quiet again for the rest of the journey back to that old shack. Once they arrived, Hannah told everyone to wait outside as she climbed down the ladder into the secret hideout.
"What is in there?" Jax asked Roscuroe.
"A bunch of Lizens hiding from humans." Roscuroe responded as Hannah climbed back out with Spot behind her. Shortly after, a few more Lizens came out. The brown and green one from earlier, two winged ones, and a small blue one were the ones who came out with Patch and Hannah.
"Alright, we are going to this place called Edmonton to free the captured Lizens." Hannah announced as one of the winged Lizens said "Alright, I am probably going to die though."
"Travis and Fontaine, take Cyan and Cypress to Edmonton, we will meet you there." Hannah ordered. The two obeyed as they lifted themselves into the air with the two non winged Lizens in their arms.
"Rest of you, come with me." Hannah ordered again as she turned around and headed towards the highway. Roscuroe just wanted to rest in some shade, fluffing out his feathers wasn't helping much to cool him off.
"Wait, how are we getting there?" Patch asked Hannah as she turned back around.
"We plan on taking one of those flying vehicles if we can figure out how to fly it." Hannah responded.
Once they arrived at the airport, they kept their distance from where most of the humans were to avoid being seen. Every small plane they came across was locked with no key nearby. After about an hour of trying to figure out how to get inside without a key, Jax said "I think we should try something else, this is obviously not going to work."
"No! It has to!" Hannah responded, determined to get inside one of the small planes. Roscuroe, Max, Harley, and Galaxy were looking out for any humans nearby that could see them. Patch, Jax, and Hannah were working on trying to break into one of the small planes by lockpicking with their claws. Roscuroe noticed one of the airplanes that humans use to transport other humans to places in the distance, it looked like it was coming in for landing.
"Plane with humans up ahead, based on how this road is set up, they might see us." Roscuroe told everyone as Hannah gave up on trying to break into the small plane.
"We could use that, we just have to be quick about it." Harley suggested.
"It's not worth the risk, once the humans find out that we hijacked a plane that is tracked, we would be in terrible danger." Max told Harley.
"Then we could use that, it is the next best thing." Harley said as he turned to look at one of the ground vehicles humans use.
"Those are easier to break into, don't ask how I know that." Hannah pointed out.
"And I know how to drive those." Patch added. Everyone turned to Roscuroe to get his output on Harley's suggestion.
"I guess we could use that instead, we just have to blend in." Roscuroe said as he felt a immediate sense of regret. Jax sighed with relief as they headed over to the human vehicle, it was black and big, like most of the other ones in the area. They would blend right in. Within a few minutes, they were off. Patch was driving, and he managed to make it seem like a human was driving the vehicle, which was a black pickup truck. They just hoped that they wouldn't run out of gas halfway.
