She stood up and looked onward at the fire that they were approaching. The villagers shrieked in fear as the flames devoured their homes; a faction had formed, carrying pitch forks and torches. They stormed along the thatched houses; hunting for the culprit.

“Who are they looking for?”

“Your ancestor.”

“Why?”

“Because she started the fire.”

Ellie watched as the horde of people surrounded two children.

“Stay away.” The boy warned.

“Your sister is a demon child; she must be punished for the crimes that she has committed.”

“It wasn’t her fault” He defended.

The leader of the group stepped forward with his torch in hand.

“Step aside child.”

“No” He shouted.

The boy raised his hands towards the leader, the fire from his torch trailed to the child’s hands, extinguishing the flame. His hands sparked; the flame licked his fingertips. The leader snagged a stick from another member and charged at the boy. He held up his glowing hands and aimed at the leader, five sparks fired in the direction of him but just before it made contact the boy directed the flames to the floor. Creating a fiery barrier that prevented the leader or any of the other members getting passed.

“Who are they?” Ellie asked.

“They are your ancestors, Lady La-Leire and Valois Yaned.”

The scenery changed again, they were now outside a large building, with an archway leading to two wooden doors. Standing at the door was Valois; he was furious.

“Let me in.” He banged on the wooden doors.

They doors creaked open, a man walked forward in Ellie’s view, it was the Ancient who had brought Ellie here.

“Is that you?” Ellie asked.

“Yes my lady.”

“I want to speak to the Ancients.” Valois shouted.

“You have one’s attention.”

“No, that is not good enough. I need all of them.”

“They are preoccupied.”

“Yes I know, training my sister. But that is why I am here, I will not allow my sister to take the burden of being the prodigy, let me continue-“

“Valois, I am sorry. But I cannot do anything, this is her destiny and she is the only one who can carry out the tasks needed.” He interrupted.

“That is ridiculous, I am stronger than her.”

“For now, but she is almost at your level, by the time that you had mastered everything she would had already finished her training and pursuing her destiny.”

“No!” Valois bellowed.

Ellie turned to look at the Ancients.

“Before you speak Lady Arielle, you must see this.”

Ellie watched as the landscape changed once again; they had taken her back to the field they visited earlier. It was different, fresh scorch marks were laid in the earth; the ground was fragmented with vast craters scattered across the turf. Valois appeared, he was older, in his mid-twenties and he looked enraged.

“Valois please, I beg of you, can you not see what you are becoming?”

La-Leire stepped forward making her way into Ellie’s view, she had aged as well, early twenties was a good age for her, and she had matured into a beautiful woman.

“I will not be undermined by my younger sibling.”

“Believe me; I do not want to be the prodigy any more than you do. But there is nothing that I can do.”

“Liar.” He raised his arms and released bolts of lightning into the sky.

“You know that I am the only one who can-“

“It’s a waste,” He interrupted “Transfer the powers to me.”

“Your vessel is not strong enough to contain it, you will be destroyed within seconds Valois.”

“You do not know that.” He aimed his hands at his sister and directed lightning from the sky at her.

“Forgive me brother.” With one hand she pushed the bolt aside and with the other she took in and directed it back into the sky.

“I am stronger than you girl.” Valois declared.

“By the order of the Ancients, you have committed the highest violation; your punishment is death by enchantment.”

An explosion of light erupted from La-Leire’s hands. Ellie watched as the siblings fought, she turned her head as La-Leire made the final blow that ended the battle.

“Another” Ellie demanded.

The Ancient nodded, raised his hands and took her to her home. It was not the same though.

“Is that my house?”

“Yes and once Lady La-Leire’s too.”

“I do not understand La-Leire. It is not possible.”

“I cannot tell you anything brother.”

“How can you bypass the Ancients power, it is not fair.”

“Brother.” She raised her hand to rest on his shoulder.

“No.” He shrugged her hand off and walked away.

The picture started to blur, she faced the Ancients.

“What does he mean?”

“By what?”

“Bypassing your power.”

“The Ancients placed a restriction spell on every warlock that exists. It is to prevent destruction.”

“What did you restrict?”

“The age, all warlocks’ power will only manifest when they turn eighteen.”

“Why, no, how did she bypass the restriction.”

“She was the prodigy; her power was greater than every Ancient combined.”

“Why eighteen though?”

One of the old women stepped forward.

“How can we put it in terms that you shall understand, teenage angst would destroyed this world. You observed how Lady La-Leire had created those fires, she did not mean to, she was simply upset and the town took the consequences.” She stepped back, taking her original place.

“Do you understand, Lady Arielle.”

“Yes. Another.” She asked.
