Chapter Seventeen. ... #HalfAHeartWithoutYou

*Cathy's P.O.V*

I woke up, the thunder booming and lightening sparking fear into my entire body.

I was soaked in sweat, and that's when I realized, I had just woken up from my ever haunting nightmare of Emma leaving me; that it was all just a bad dream.

I felt around the bed for Emma, but she was no where to be found.

Panic filled me as my mind wondered off to my dream.

Fearing the worst, I hopped out of bed, in my striped tank top and black shorts, only to be greeted by ice cold air against my bare thighs.
The air conditioning was so cold, that only a power outage could cause that amount of icicles on my window,let alone inside of my body.
I ran across the room to my door,peeking my head outside,I heard singing coming from the music room;A place with many priceless memories,that I can never replace.

I walked a little closer,and the sound became louder,sweeter,and more passionate.

I finally made my way to the door of the room.Peeping inside,I saw Emma,holding a guitar.My old guitar to be exact.
I had gotten it from my grandparents when I was twelve,and,after the tragic events that followed,I eventually just lived for that guitar,that was,until I found Emma...She was my life source.
The reason I lived. Emma.


I sat down next to the door,sneaking a peek every now and again,just to see her shoulder muscles tense up,at certain lyrics,or her arm muscles flex when she strummed,and most importantly,her scars.They were so beautiful,and even though they littered her body,I didn't care.To me,she was perfect.


She snapped me out of my thoughts when I heard the words escape her lips..
The one song I never thought I'd hear,ever again.
My girlfriend knows it..

She choked back a sob,and I felt my heart ache to hold her close to me and tell her that everything would be okay now,because I love her..

She stopped for a moment,taking a deep breath she continued,choaking out the lyrics,

She whispered the last word,as though it held so much meaning to her.

She paused for a moment,trying to compose herself before murmuring,

"darkened road..."



I hadn't even stopped to notice that Emma was now sobbing,whispering to herself,
"Cathy,I love you so much princess.. And,it's just so difficult for me to come to terms with how fast this is all happening..Bu-t,I want you to know that I love you,more than anyone ever could..I'll protect you with every fibre of my being and I will not fail you baby girl...
I love you... " She said,weeping into her hands.

I couldn't take seeing her in this much pain.I walked over to my guitar shelf,as silently as I could,and took my mom's old guitar and began strumming..

Emma looked at me,a smile of pure bliss on her lips,as she leaned in and said.. "Forever and Always..." 
Before scooping me up in her arms and carrying me to our  bedroom...
