(Vivian)

I was running quickly to my parents who were sitting on the porch of our small little home. "Momma! Momma! Look what I found!" I giggled and held up the large feather from an eagle that had landed on top of the mail box before flying away quickly.

But when I approached my parents all I saw were the lifeless forms of them sitting up right on the steps.

Next thing I heard was a blood curdling scream before it all went black.

I woke up in a cold sweat and loss of breath. With a sigh I sat up and swung my legs over the end of the cot I was given for a bed. "It was that stupid nightmare again.." I mumbled.

Soon there was a pounding against my door.

"Wake up Vivian you lazy pig!" My aunt yelled through the door.

I stood and pulled a sweater over my scarcely clad body before opening the door to reveal my aunt standing there with a disgusted look upon her face.

"Put on something decent, we have guests and you are to make breakfast." She sneered.

All I did was nod before closing the door once again. I turned on my heel and opened my sad excuse for a closet. I pulled out a pair of black skinny jeans and a simple gray sweatshirt before taking off the sweater and pulling on the jeans and sweatshirt. I looked at myself in the reflection of the window before pulling my long silver hair into a tight braid.

After I was semi-decent I walked out of my room and turned to head into the living room just as someone rammed into my shoulder.

"Watch where you're going!" The person sneered. I turned and saw that they were a boy, about my age, with black hair that was messy and he had chocolate brown eyes.

I silently cursed myself before making my way into the kitchen. Just as I passed the table my uncle growled, presumably at me, and grabbed his coffee cup whilst glaring at me.

I kept my head down and began work on breakfast. I just simply made eggs with bacon and biscuits.

Once breakfast was finished, my aunt called everyone into the kitchen to sit down at the table. My aunt and uncle were sat at the opposite ends of the table and our guests, including the boy with brown eyes, sat at the sides of the table. There was only one last chair open, which is for my brother Nikolaus who was probably outside.

My aunt glared at me. "Go get your brother, pig, then get the coffee."

I nodded and went outside and saw Nikolaus sitting on the steps, looking at a moving picture that he held in his hands. I slowly walked over to him and set a hand on his shoulder. He turned and looked up at me, and I saw the pain and tears in his eyes.

"It's breakfast Nik. Aunt told me to come get you, we have guests too." I said softly.

He just nodded and stood up, tucking the picture into his pocket, before gently grabbing my hand. Together we walked inside and my aunt smiled at Nik before glaring at me. Nik let go of my hand before sitting at the table.

I grabbed the coffee pot and delicately poured my aunt, uncle, and our adult guests a nice hot cup of coffee. The woman, who had brown hair gently smiled at me.

"Thank you darling." She said softly, earning a scoff from my aunt.

"There is no reason you should be thanking her Maryanne. She's just a little pig." My aunt laughed, causing me to look down and put the coffee pot back in it's place.
