A few weeks have past since Oswald came to me to ask for help to get out of Gotham. Though I was reluctant at first with all that has happened between us. I have grown tired of being enemies with the only person I have ever truly trusted, I wanted for us to put the past behind us and just move forward for a long time. Now that we have, we are working towards a common goal. Escape Gotham and I have a plan, we build a submarine. I found blueprints to a sub in the old library months ago and I've been holding onto them for a rainy day. The rain of blood shed over Gotham will do, now it's time we escape this prison.

It's going to be a challenge to build from scratch, not to mention the fact that we have to keep it a secret or have Gothams best criminals knocking on our doorsteps either wanting in or taking it all for themselves. Trust is still so very hard to find in Gotham, but I trust Oswald more than anyone.

A few weeks has past since we started the submarine, I tasked myself with gathering materials and Edward's is building it. Me and Dale, my new hired muscle walk into the abandoned building we chose for the complex task of building a submarine. The bells of the make shift alarm ding in unison as we go through the front door. I make my way to the workshop room while Dale follows shortly behind with Ed and I's lunches. I open the door dramatically and walk into the room to see that Edward is holding a gun pointed at us, he puts it down when sees it's me. Annoyance is written all over his face.

"You where due hours ago." He says noticeably agitated.

"But I had to get us lunch. And I met Dale." My arm raises to jester towards a much taller and noticeably larger man behind me.

"I see that. Do you see this?" I say glancing around the candlelight chaotic mess of a room, at all the work I've been doing. The submarine is supposed to be a secret and he is just going to bring someone he just met in on it. We can't trust him. "Our plan is to get off this island. How can you trust him?" I say as I can feel my blood pressure rise.

"Dale is completely trustworthy." He says completely sure of himself.

"How do you know we can trust him if you just met him?" I ask the obvious question.

"Because he is mute and dumb as a post." "Look, I know you're paranoid about people watching us." He steps closer to me, still not believing me about being watched.

"Someone is watching us!" I shout. "Why do you think I installed this alarm system?"

Oswald gets a chuckle out of that when he looks at all the bells and strings. "And as safe as I feel with your jingle bell contraption in place, I went out and procured us some muscle. You're welcome."

Edward walks over to his cluttered desk and I walk over to the table. Edward says something under his breath that I can't make it out. My eyes are on the prize and I'm to busy to try and piece together what Edward had said.

"Ah" Oswald says. When I turn around Oswald's hands are all over the model I made of the submarine.

"How's my S.S Gertrude coming along?" Oswald says taking in the details of the model, lost in a trance of what it would be like to pilot the sub.

"Our submarine is going along just fine, thank you." As I grab the model from Oswald's hands and I put it on my desk well Oswald stands with his hands in the air like the sub was still there for a few seconds. I keep on talking. "I've been working on the sonar, for longer than I imagined." It's more complex then I first thought but I will figure it out.

"Well, I'm confident you will figure it out." I say as I pick up a near by magnified glass and examines my nails. It's the last straw for Edward.

"I'm sure I will figure it out. Because I figure everything out." Edward says his voice becoming increasingly louder and anger showing on his face and in his body language as he inches closer to me."I figure everything out. The navigation system. The oxygen exchange. I will figure everything out, because I'm the only one that is working!" Edward says as he grabs the magnified glass out of my hands. "This was supposed to be a partnership." Edward motions his hands from himself to me.

"It is. I already did my part by stealing everything valuable in Gotham, of which you get half of!" I shout anger seeping into my words.

"No! Your goons stole it, and than you killed 'em." The alarm system jangles just before the arguing elevates anymore.

"Are you expecting anyone?" I ask wondering who it could possibly be... for a second I think about what Ed said about us being watched.

"Who would I be expecting, Oswald?" Edward says honestly. "I told you someone's watching us." I think he was right as always.

"Dale, go do what I pay you for." He stands there like a statue. "Protect us!" He finally moves into position. Ed pulls his gun and the doors open. And I can't believe my eyes."Wait." I say raising my arms up. "Penn" It can't be but, he is standing right front of me wearing his signature suit and bow tie, looking very much alive. He's holding a suit case in one hand.

"Hello, Mr. Cobblepot." I can't even get the words out.

"Are you— are you really— I—I-I don't believe it. Y-You're alive." I say shocked and surprised.

"Indeed, sir. I-I am." But I watched him die.

"But, I was there when you were shot." "This whole time I thought you were dead and your alive!" I laugh with joy. It wears off fast, at the sudden realization of the month he's been absent. "You're only coming to me now." I say ignored.

"I wanted to come see you, but... he wouldn't let me." He? Who?

" 'He' who?" Who is he talking about?

Penn squats down to open his suit case. "This... is...Mr. Scarface." He opens it and pulls out a creepy doll that looks aged from many years of no one wanting it. It's damaged with a scare across the dolls wooden face and it is dressed like an old mobster. I'm so confused, concerned as I turn to face Edward. Who has been listening to this entire conversation unfold from a safe distance away.

"Wonderful." He says in a sarcastic tone.
