"That suit is incredible." Dylan drooled, looking between both me and Lennon, whom had changed into her Black Hawk costume. It was a short sleeved leather vest that zipped up to her neck and protected her shoulders with small armored coverings. Her mid-section was a maroon color, and her pants were tight and made of a blend of spandex material originally from the Black Widow suit to help her move around more effiecently. Her fiery red hair was pulled into a flawless pony-tail, high on her head whilst her face was covered in a plain black mask that covered around her eyes and nose, finishing into a point to give the illusion of a bird. Her arm guard was strapped firmly to her forearm and she held her bow carefully, quill full of varied arrows that had a range of stun to annihilate.
Black leather boots were framed on her feet that somehow made no sound as she walked. We were currently at Jason's personal lab, a warehouse in which his father gave him so that he was free to work on his own projects and experiement the way Tony had as a child.
Fortunately, it gave total privacy to us, because Jarvis wasn't connected to the link waves thanks to a virus Jason developed. With Dylan's strength, he and Jason were able to move the deactivated Iron Man suit to the warehouse so Jason could analyze it freely.
I was in my own suit, goggles placed a top of my head so I wouldn't see everything in a yellowish tint. My mouth mask was let loose around my neck and I watched as Jason worked on a slab of Vibranium he snuck from his father's lab. He was currently making a modified suit for himself similar to the original Iron Man. Dylan was also trying to make a suit of his own, but seeing as he had virtually unbreakable skin and bones, he didn't need armor. So currently he was working on masking his identity, and failing miserably.
"Hey, the hoodie's my idea! I call plagiarism." I teased, watching as he fumbled with a royal purple hoodie he had planned as his disguise. He outwardly groaned, shooting me an annoyed look and tossing the hoodie aside.
"What the hell do I wear?" He complained, looking over to us in need of advice.
"Spandex?" I wiggled my eyebrows suggestively. Dylan made a sour face, causing Lennon and I to burst out in a fit of giggles.
"Jason?" Dylan tried.
"I only know technology man, which you definitely don't need. How about going shirtless like your old man?"
"He had a giant green monster to disguise his identity," Dylan pointed out, "all I have is weird tan lines."
"Which no one wants to see." Lennon added. Jason and I snickered at that, while Dylan blushed a faint pink, still managing to give Lennon a confident wink. While they continued to flirt shamelessly, I turned to Jason, who was making a new helmet out of scratch so it wouldn't look to much like the original Iron Man suit.
"What are you thinking of calling yourself?" I wondered aloud, still not sure of my name either.
"Not sure," Jason shrugged, "maybe something like Lennon's name, she was able to incorporate both her parents' aliases with Black Hawk."
I nodded, knowing what he meant. Does that mean I should derive from a name like Spider-Man? There was no way I was calling myself Spider-Girl.
Perhaps the Human Spider?
"WENDY." Dylan screeched, interrupting my thoughts. I looked over to my friends to see Lennon staring angrily at Dylan and Dylan pinned to the wall by his shirt and three arrows. The arrows were not wood but metallic material that Jason helped improve a couple days before. Originally, they were old S.H.I.E.L.D. arrows, out of date and a bit unstable. Now, they were quite new, with more features than I can keep track of, but enough that Lennon had memorized from the blueprint.
"Now what happened here?"
"Dylan was being an asshole." Lennon smiled sweetly, placing her bow back on her holder.
"You have super strength, why don't you just pull them out?" Jason suggested, not looking up from his welding.
"This was my favorite shirt." Dylan grumbled, pulling out the arrows with a bit too much force and tearing even bigger holes into the graphic t-shirt that had a drawn picture of a woman called 'Captain Marvel'?
"What would your name be?" I asked Dylan, suddenly remembering what I was contemplating before I was interrupted.
He looked up thoughtfully, easing into the hoodie he set aside to cover up the large holes of his shirt.
"Power Man." He said at last, with a triumphant look on his face.
"Already taken." Lennon smirked from afar, slouching leisurely on a couch in front of Jason's workbench and fiddling with her arrows.
"What?" Dylan's face fell. "By who?"
"He's old now, but he was this 'Hero For Hire', his name was Luke Cage. Kind of intimidating if you ask me."
"Well, I've got nothing." Dylan slumped into his chair, lowering his head in defeat. I thought to myself for a moment, watching as Dylan repeatedly roll up the sleeve of his hoodie, grunting in frustration as the rich purple fabric refused to stay put.
I could almost feel the little fictional lightbulb going off in my brain as I grabbed a pair of scissors, rushing over to Dylan with a wild grin on my face.
"What the- Hey!" he protested as I started to cut at the sleeves of the thick hoodie. I made a long and careful incision at the shoulder, letting the sleeve slide off in grace and revealing the bare tanned arm of one Dylan Banner. The royal purple complimented his skin well, and I was well underway of working on the other arm.
"So you just like cutting up clothes? This was 15 bucks!" Dylan complained, rubbing the cutoff cloth in disappointment.
"And....." I lastly huffed in pride, taking the pre cut fabric letters that Lennon had originally bought for me, and holding it up to where a large 'D' would be placed on Dylan's chest."D?" He raised an eyebrow, eyeing the pale yellow letter in curiousity.
"I thought the whole point was to hide his identity." Lennon pointed out, but nodding her head in support as she looked over the complete look. His hoodie was simply yet sleek, and his skin was unbreakable anyways, so it was fine to show some skin. Dylan also wore plain black jeans and sneakers, saying that there was no way he was going to wear tights anyways.
"How about Duke? It sounds tough." Jason piped, looking up from his helmet and nodding in approval.
We all turned towards Dylan, searching for his reaction to the name.
"It does sound tougher." He shrugged, giving us a grin, and we all erupted in cheers.
Two heroes down, two to go.
